late afternoon. 3:30, 60 in philadelphia. 59 in allentown, and 65 in millville. everybody will feel a little bit better as we get into the late afternoon and early evening hours. satellite and radar, not too much to talk about in the short term, crystal clear, at least sky conditions-wise, from washington, d.c. to maine as high pressure continues to dominate the weather pattern. all of a sudden this guy forms. this is tropical depression 8. here's the island of bermuda, and north carolina, you can see the explosion in thunderstorm activity. the good news the center of circulation is displaced from the thunderstorms. in order for this guy to strengthen, those thunderstorms have to wrap around the center of circulation. as long as the storm is raggedy like this, it should not intensify all that much. right now we're forecasting it will become a tropical storm and head closer to the u.s. mainland before heading out to sea. the reason why it's heading out to sea we have a canadian cold front sliding through wednesday night into thursday morning. that will help to bump this off the coast.
