after a suspect jumped into the passaic river. >> a very unusual story here. once again chopper 4 over the passaic river here in newark. we can tell you this all began around 1:00 this afternoon. this is the 1000 block of the carver highway. you're looking at newark. this started across the river in harrison. this began around 1:00 on harrison police stopped a vehicle. the driver jumped from the vehicle, jumped into the passaic river, was hanging on for quite sometime when a newark police boat came to get him. that suspect swam all the way upstream here in newark along the passaic river to this spot, where he entered a storm drain. right now he's been in that storm drain for hours ever since. we have a fire boat here from newark as well as a police boat from newark still waitings understand that specialized equipment is being brought in to help locate the suspect, but at this point it looks like they're just waiting for the suspect to reappear. he's cordoned off inside that storm drain with nowhere to go. back to you in the studio. >> all right. almost sounds like fiction, right?
