breaking news here in san jose. we first brought you this story at 9:00 on our newscast then. a fatal shooting in south san jose on the 200 block of tradewinds drive near oak grove high school. david gonzalez from our sister station telemundo tray was out there talking to worried neighbors. >> reporter: it's a tense situation. police have been combing the area for hours. some people have been forced out of their home during this investigation. the shooting happened just before 7:00 tonight. neighbors say they heard what they thought were fireworks coming from nearby oak grove high school. once they realized it was gunfire, many took cover in their homes. officers found one male victim who had been shot. he later died at a local hospital. neighbors say it's the second shooting in the area this week and they are very concerned. >> it's a friendly neighborhood. all of a sudden you hear someone got shot? you get scared, you know? it's quite concerning for the community. and the schools are around us. it's a bit shocking. >> neighbors say they saw a suspicious car circling the neighborhood
