what does the icoud from apple which is a service mean for apple's traditional focus which has been on hard ware, iphones, i pads and what not? >> right, well it is kind of shocking what steve jobs said. he demoted all hardware, called it basically just devices. so you know, they're basically portals for the content that you're going to access. although, you know, apple's icloud service doesn't keep your entire library in the clouds all the time. i mean it has the record of your information but you still have to play it locally. but whenever you buy a new gadget, a new ios gadget you can simply download what you already purchased to that device. that's the benefit. >> tom: what's the business opportunity here? as i mentioned cloud computing is as hot as social networking in terms of technology phrases. so what's the opportunity that apple sees? >> well, i think first of all they can't deny the cloud. they can't deny that people are becoming more and more comfortable with storing things other than their local devices. but it also lowers the barrier. you know, you actually feel more comf

that's what apple said in passing. but there's a lot of questions as to your privacy and the security of cloud-based applications, internet-based services. we've seen a lot of attacks, hacking attacks into sony, nintendo, pbs. we've seen a lot of these... the vulnerability of information that resides on the internet. when i say resides on the enter, i mean it resides on servers. you don know where they are but large data forums all over the country around the world where there are bits and pieces, the bits, i should say, of the music that you have. the videos that you have. the bits, the actual digital pacts. they reside in these places that you don't really have so much control of. when you make this decision to switch to cloud-based applications, it's much easier, more convenient and often much cheaper. but there often is the... there is the consideration of afraid-off perhaps in that there may be less security involved. it's much safer when you have your information on your own computer. but only you can access. tha

what do you think the catalyst is to push apple up to the next level? >> well, i'm not sure what the short-term catalyst is. but we look at the long-term prospects for this company. and we see a lot of growth ahead of them. again, it's uncertainty as to what the stock will do in the next three to six weeks but i can feel very, very comfortable on the growth trajectory of this company in the next three to five years. they have less than 2% share of the global cell phone market and that's growing rapidly. their new i pad which was launched 14 months ago is now a $20 billion business for them, in 1 year's time. that's pretty impressive and we think they have a huge runway for growth. add to that the valuation, not demanding, trades less than the market and with a huge cash position gives them a lot of cushon in a difficult market. we think that it has both offensive and defensive characteristics and will be a great long-term holding. >> tom: you mentioned cell phones, smart phones when it comes to apple, qualcomm clearly is a big piece of the global mobile
