minneapolis, 103. that's just doesn't happen that often. incredible heat. everybody to the right here was above 100 degrees. the exceptions, northern new england. and much of the west is much cooler. this cool air will slowly begin to give relief to areas like minnesotaed to. the heat ridge builds to the east, over the top -- right around the smokey mountains. that hot air is going to pump right around it. minneapolis, you'll cool off as that cold front slides through today and some of the hottest air of the season will be arriving in areas of the mid-atlantic. the 24-hour temperature change, temperature right now compared to yesterday at this time, is about 10 degrees cooler in billings. we're already warming it up. temperature in new york city, 7 degrees warmer right now than when you left the house this time yesterday. there's not much rain out there. so the forecast for today, we'll call 98 in d.c., where yesterday were in the low 90s. the only saving grace, the difference between this heat wave now and what we get in july and august is lot more humid.

look at that temperatures in minneapolis. it was hotter there than it was anywhere in arizona. weird anomoly. the weather pattern is going to flatten itself out. by that we'll see the warmer air being pushed to the south. the cool conditions will mild up on the coast. yesterday it was cool. 60s, 74 in la. we don't have stormy weather out there. only one upper level low spinning up here in areas of eastern washington state. we're dry everywhere else. the jet stream has this big buckle in it....
