marines are dead tonight after two helicopters collided in mid air last night in california. it happened during a routine training exercise. they are trying to determine what caused it. our fox station there fox 10 from pheonix sent us this video of the crash site. you can see the wreckage on the ground. the choppers went down in a remote area outside of the training complex near an the arizona border. the helicopters were similar to the ones you see here and they were operating in the area known for its rugged terrain. >> our marines will go out there and use the training ranges out there. a lot of them are very similar to what the terrain will be right when they deploy to afghanistan. so they go out there and conduct training exercises so they have the familiarization before they deploy. >> officials have not released the names of the marines killed, but we know all but one of them had been stationed at camp pendleton in san diego. this is the latest deadly aircraft incident involving a marine base in over a year. what else do we know about the two choppers that collided? >
