steve is steve with clothes on. >> steve: indeed. thank you, brian. we just heard from the democrats on why they say they cut $716 billion from medicare. but are you still confused about the impact it's going to have on medicare? peter johnson, jr. has been looking at it and he's got some graphics and peter, you're going to explain what's happening. >> you might be surprised. let's look at the cuts. these are the major cuts that we're talking about under obamacare. 415 billion to hospitals. medicare advantage, 156 billion. $56 billion to low income patient hospitals. what's the net effect of this? 2011 study that i found to be absolutely disturbing. it says that the cuts could increase patient death rates in america. that's right. patient death rates based upon the balanced budget act in the '90s and what that did to medicare. a study by professors called the long-term impact of medicare, pain reduction on patient outcomes. it says that less money being spent on staffing means fewer nurses per bed, and an increase in mortality in heart attack patients
