navy s.e.a.l. known as the deadliest sniper in u.s. history. 38-year-old chris kyle was killed yesterday along with a second man at a gun range near ft. worth, texas. these are pictures of kyle taken from the security company he founded after leaving the navy. the gunman accused of killing kyle has been identified as eddie ray routh. he is in custody facing two counts of capital murder. earlier i spoke with one of kyle's friends, jason kos, about the man he called a war hero. >> he and a friend took a marine that was suffering from ptsd to a gun range to shoot and as a way that he always did giving back and, you know, it was certainly him taking his time to help, again, help war heroes. >> he had quite a reputation in the field as one of the most lethal snipers out there. how did he handle that? >> you know, he viewed, chris viewed it as his job and he was protecting his brothers, frankly. he as a man was quite contrary to that because he was incredibly loving father and charismatic and really caring person. so, it's quite a contrast from what he did as his job and tours of dut

charged with murdering a well known navy s.e.a.l. over the weekend is on suicide watch tonight, being held on a $3 million bond. texas authorities say he was tasers and restrained after he became aggressive with guards. one of the two men he's accused of gunning down is chris kyle. possibly the best u.s. military sniper ever. he served five combat tours in iraq. he had 160 confirmed kills. that's according to his best-selling book "american sniper." remarkably, he made one of those shots from 2,100 yards away, here's how he described the moment. maybe the way i jerked the trigger to the right adjusted for the wind. maybe gravity shifted and put that bullet right where it had to be. he was so feared by iraqi insurgents they put a bounty on his head. he survived the war, left the navy with a chestful of medals. back home in texas he was known for helping combat veterans struggling with ptsd. officials think that's what he was doing at that gun range where he died. ed lavendera reports. >> reporter: chris kyle and his friend, chad littlefield spent countless hours counseling fellow war vetera

details about the murders of two military veterans, one a former navy s.e.a.l., chris kyle and his friend chad littlefield were shot and killed in ft. worth texas. the man who pulled the trigger is a veteran who kyle may have been trying to help with ptsd. susan candiotti joins us live with more. what do we know about how this happened? >> well, got some brand new information during the press conference. first of all, we learned about an alleged confession. and police say they think they also have found the murder weapon, when they describe as a semiautomatic handgun that was found at the suspect's house. let's back up a little bit. after the double shooting at that gun lodge, police say the suspected shooter who's 25-year-old eddie ray ralph took off in kyle's pickup truck. then they said that he went to his sister's house and told her and his brother what had happened, and then left that house. that's when the sister called the police. police put out an all points bulletin and tracked ralph, the suspect to his own house. now, the home was ringed, according to what one police lieutenant
