kpix 5's roberta gonzales is here with the heat warnings that are in place right now. >> reporter: out of 11 bay area counties, only three did not see temperatures above 100 degrees today, that was san francisco, san mateo and marin counties. all those areas in red, those are the places that had that excessive heat warning in effect until tuesday night with temperatures averaging up to 25 degrees above normal. we are going to heighten the risk of heat exhaustion with a multi-day heat wave and very warm nights with little recovery anticipated. so today, highs so far up to 105 degrees in livermore, record heat in santa rosa at 102. record heat in oakland 85. we had a record high of 92 in mountain view. and it's only going to get hotter. expect more heat, especially inland. very low relative humidity with high fire danger. and each and every day especially if there is a bart strike and more automobiles on the roadways, we are going to see unhealthy air quality especially for children in the bay area. frank, the big question now, when is it going to end? details coming up. >> hopefully bef

kpix 5 roberta gonzalez with the record breaking temperatures. >> we had two record high temperatures. 85 in oakland. shattering the record in 1991. and 92 in mountain view that. breaks the record established in 1950. but it was still very hot. especially fairfield. livermore, 105. 96 in san jose. they're not records but any where from 102 in sonoma and morgan hill. to 106 degrees in pleasanton. look at the red highlighted areas. with eleven counties in the bay area. only three did not see temperatures over 100 degrees. san francisco, and san mateo. everybody else in the red area you have an excessive heat warning in effect until tuesday night that shows you how long it will remain hot and it will get hotter. right now it's a very slow cool down but coming up we'll talk about the hottest day to come and then when the relief will arrive. >>> the hot weather means allen rock park will be closed to the public tomorrow. park rangers are trying to reduce the potential for fire related emergency. >>> a bay area woman is under arrest after her heat killed her dog. pleasant hill police say th

here's roberta gonzales. >> when you see the clouds rushing in. that's a strong indication we see the return of that robust marine layer and we're feeling the effects of that cooler air mass at least a good 45 miles inland. current air temperature now stands at 60 degrees in san francisco. but livermore has now fallen off a good seven degrees in the past 20 minutes with that wind now reaching the inland areas. but just how hot was it today? livermore, 106 degrees and now we're just hearing 107 is the official reading there. shattering that record of 106 established back in 1918. it was in the triple digits in santa clara and the lake at 110 degrees. now today, one of the hottest spots obviously was that record- breaking high in livermore. but a lot of people still headed outside. kpix 5's patrick sedillo shows how people stayed cool. >> reporter: it was the topic of the day in livermore. >> it's hot. >> it's hot. >> reporter: whether we fake it or not, jacob brought his kids to the water park and does what he can to give his little ones a respite
