i'm eric thomas. a police officer shot and killed a pit bull after the dog attacked him this morning. it started from mailbox thefts in a neighborhood. witnesses led the police to this home in east empire. they conducted a probation search at the house when a large pit bull came up from the basement and charged and started to bite an officer monopoly he was in the hospital with minor leg injuries. the man on probation was taken in custody. >>> leyla gulen has the morning commute....
