scene to show you what it looks like at this point. megan mcgrath just arrived on the ground to show us the damage up close. megan? >> reporter: well, you can take a look behind me here and see the mess that we have. the suv that has slammed into the side of this mcdonald's right around the area of the carry-out window here. now this mcdonald's is located in the parking lot of the capitol plaza here off annapolis road. this happened just a short time ago. not a lot of detail at this point, but obviously the driver of this suv for whatever reason lost control. they slammed into the side of the mcdonald's. then we are told that the vehicle actually caught fire. firefighters arrived on the scene and put out the flames. we are told that nobody was injured. so good news there. we have seen mcdonald's employees showing up here to the parking lot this morning. obviously, they have turned away when they see what has happened here. the mcdonald's itself not open for business. we are not sure if that's going to be an all-day situation or just until they can sort of stabilize things to do

warning. some may find the video hard to watch. >> we're looking at every possibility, every fact and circumstance that contributed to this situation and we are going to come to a just conclusion. >> reporter: it happened at the end of a freeway on-ramp on tuesday night. the incident was captured on cell phone video by a passing motorist. the chp says the unknown woman was seen barefoot, walking along the freeway shoulder at times stepping out into the heavy traffic. according to the chp the woman ignored the officer's command to get out of the traffic lane then became physically combative. the report says the officer was concerned about the woman's safety as well as his own and when he tried to place her under arrest a physical altercation ensued. the woman didn't complain of any injuries. and the officers didn't see any evidence of them. she was transported to l.a. county medical for evaluation. the chp says it can't jump to conclusions without a full investigation. and there is more to this incident than what can be seen on this cell phone video. >> the tape only shows a small part
