this is going to eventually turn into a snowstorm for chicago. indianapolis and cleveland and this is where we have the winter storm warning, since it's later in the forecast period that's where we have the winter storm watch. here's the timing into tonight. omaha, nebraska seeing the snow. it moves into chicago, becomes heavy at times overnight into sunday morning. it starts to spread into buffalo, and erie pennsylvania. sunday we're watching this rain/snow line. if this was a little further to the north not much of a snowstorm for new york city but further to the south we could be looking up to ten or more inches of snow for new york city. things will change as we go through the next couple of days but chicago could see a foot of snow. that pink is the best chance of seeing a foot of snow and you can see it's just to the north of new york city. unfortunately, southern new england and into boston that's an area that's still digging out from two feet of snow and we could add another foot on top of that. >> all right. we have some hot tea for you

so miserable, in fact chicago public schools are canceled today, more than 100 schools in the chicago area are also canceled. they were canceled yesterday in parts of ohio. interestingly enough it has to go down to minus 45 degrees with the windchill for them to close the schools in minneapolis. but even up there today, as you just mentioned, i would be -- if i was a parent, i would be checking with the school board to find out if my kid's school is opened. also as you mentioned, al coming out of these windchills when the temperature gets down this low you can start to see the whiteness show up on your cheeks fingers, as you know with frost bite in as much as 15 to 20 30 minutes. if you're going to let the kids go outside today, keep an eye on them to make sure they are covered up. exposed skin isn't going to last very long out in these temperatures. unfortunately, as you also mentioned, this doesn't seem to be going anywhere al. >> that's right. kevin tibbles in chicago for us. thanks so much. you and your crew get inside. warm up kevin. thanks so much. it will be a tough one over th
