d.c. mansion in northwest last thursday. this was the last time a potential suspect was seen captured in a security camera video. they believed he ditched the car here, set it on fire because he was familiar with this area. so far days now investigators returned to new carrollton in an effort to track him down. today they were showing pictures of a safety vest to people in the parking lot. three adults and one child murdered in this house. a man, his wife, their 10-year-old boy, and the family's housekeeper. a fire then set in an apparent effort to destroy evidence and cover up the murders. sources tell news4 that the three adults were beaten and stabbed to death in what was described as a bloody scene. the boy's body badly burned, so much so it's unclear if he suffered any other injuries. >> one of the horrible thin that's we have to deal with. any time there's a child involved, it's something that shakes all of us, just like it does the community. we're just like everybody else. >> repor

how did the d.c. police break the story? >> essentially d.c. police were working with the task force officers consisting of u.s. marshal service. they zeroed in on a hotel in college park maryland. they found the box truck, a car. they follow had the to northeast d.c. to 1,000 block of rhode island avenue. they arrested wint with no problem. there was no problem with the incident. also investigators tell us that as peter said you have the two other men, three other women. they're looking to see if the they're somehow connected to this and how. we do know wint worked for the american iron works company that is savvas savopoulos company. we know wint's relative was fire ed from the the company. homicide detectives are trying to find a motive. they'll sit him down and talk to him. okay you worked for this company, what is your connection to this family? what happened? this was a brutal murder unimaginable. you have savvas his wife amy, 10-year-old son and the housekeeper. then the house is set on fire. >> peter, you talked to the marshal service.

d.c. council will vote on changes to how much you pay for parking and you guessed it rates are going up. however, there's a battle over what kind of parking will cost more. news4's kristin wright has more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. yes, the bottom line is that we're all going to pay more to park in the district but the question today is in what way? there are two proposals you need to know about. d.c. council chairman phil mendelson, his plan extends parking meter hours to midnight in areas like georgetown where we are this morning. adams morgan and the downtown business district, for example. mendelson proposes increasing parking ticket fines by $5. now the second option on the table is mayor bowser's plan to raise the tax on parking lots and garages in the district. that means we'd pay more to park in those areas. now, this is all about the district's budget and district council is set to vote on that today. eun and aaron, back to you. >> kristin wright in georgetown. than

d.c. has derailed. up to 60 people are injured. alison: it was a northeast regional train that left from washington, d.c., just a few hours ago on its way to new york city. richard reeve is live at union station with the latest. richard? richard: this was northeast regional number 188 that left union station at about 7:10 p.m. due to go to new york city. this is regarded as a mass castle the incident. that means the fire department police emergency services have all hands on deck at the location. what we have been seeing, what we have been talking about earlier reports said that the train shook as it went around a turn. another report said the trainers seem to shift onto its right side. we know that about 200 people were on the train, 8 to 10 cars derailed, at least two on their side. we have heard reports of 50, 60 people injured, lacerations, broken bones, things like that. we know that an ntsb team is on their way, search teams, as you may be showing on the video looking with flashlight
