with "today's" erica hill. she made her way to paris overnight. erica, what can you tell us? >> reporter: matt and savannah, good morning. i can tell you when we landed we were surprised. they held us on the tarmac for 40 minutes saying there were no gates. when we got to the gate, we heard reports about long, long lines at security. we were able to sail through customs and came out and got a cab right away. the driver said it was quiet. one thing that surprised us, matt, are the number of people on the streets. we heard the security concerns. you set up the scene so well. you would imagine the sense of fear. i saw kids playing on rides outside. all of this is a surprise as we take you through how everything happened overnight. france is in a state of emergency. its people in a state of shock. what started off as a typical friday night turned out to be the deadliest day in the council friday since world war ii. the enemy this time, according to the french president, isis. a night of terror left 128 dead and over 200 injured. 99 of them in critical condition. eight attackers

brotherhood in public. erica hill has found some visiting americans in paris. erica? >> reporter: yeah, brian. there are actually a number of them. we met a couple this morning from los angeles. they had made their way over not long after hearing about the attacks. they thought about it for a moment, should we go, and they thought we've gone through there as americans, we've planned this vacation for months, we're coming. part of the reason they wanted to come was to show their solidarity with the french people. >> we got the last flight out of lax friday night and were pretty nervous driving to the airport. checked with the airline at the airport. they said the borders are closed, but you can still fly in. we said, we're not going to be scared by this. we're going to have our trip that we planned. >> we warranted to nted to be a area that would remind us why we wanted to come here and not just to see the eiffel tower but to celebrate it. >> reporter: so they really wanted to be immerse themselves in french culture and be here. over the past three days it's been a bit of a roller coast

legislation and are among those who want in on the green. erica hill, good morning. >> reporter: you mention those big names. there's nick lachey of the boy bands, nba great oscar robinson. if issue 3 passes, ohio would become the fifth state to legalize marijuana, it's the other part of this ballot measure being pushed by a group called responsible ohio. a number of folks were recruited, including nick lachey and others to push that ballot measure through. it would create ten parcels of land designated throughout the state as having exclusive commercial rights to grow the marijuana, which would then be sold at 1,100 state-run stores. a lot of folks are saying you're pushing through a constitutional amendment that would allow us to create a monopoly in the state. and there's a countermeasure called the anti-monopoly amendment. but this parcel of land behind me, 29 acres, it is zoned for agricultural use and responsible hai o'told us that if this passes, they're interested in this site and this could be one of those places where nick lachey is an investor where they would grow some of
