martial cshalls are searching f fugitives who escaped from a southern california jail and authorities are now offering a $200,000 reward for information leading to the fugitives' arrest. federal authorities are searching for jonathan chu and nayeri who escaped last week with this man bak duong. they broke out of the central men's jail and they were spotted in san jose on thursday. and may now be on their way south to fresno. abc 7 news reporter has the latest. >> reporter: the manager didn't want to speak on camera but recognized the youngest of the fugitives accused of murder and attempted murder. all three described as extremely dangerous. they stayed in room 14 tuesday and wednesday night and check out thursday morning. california corrections agents and u.s. marshals are actively searching. >> they came here asking for people escaping jail in southern california. >> reporter: motel manager says agents were in his office minutes before we got there. did you recognize the people? >> yeah, i recognize because i've seen always on the tv and newspaper every day. >> reporter: had they be

the manhunt inmates who escaped from a maximum-security jail in southern california. authorities say 20-year-old jonathan tieu, 43- year-old bac duong and 37- year-old hossein nayeri, escaped from the orange county men's central jail in santa ana on friday. they cut through half-inch steel bars, got to the roof and used sheets to crawl down the building. it's unclear if they had outside help. authorities warn the men are extremely dangerous and anyone who sees them should call 911 immediately. an american airlines jet was diverted to canada after hitting severe turbulence. at least four ambulances and a fire truck were waiting on the tarmac when the plane touched down last night at saint john international airport. 3 flight attendants and 4 passengers were treated at area hospitals. an american airlines spokesman says the injuries didn't appear to be life threatening. the flight was headed from miami to milan, italy with 192 passengers and 11 crew more trouble for japanese auto parts maker takata. a 10th death has been linked the company's faulty airbags. u-s regulato

why aren't we having this constant barrage or this hose on southern california?' and the answer to that may lie in the position of the warmest water. in other words, we know el nino is the warming waters off of south america, right? out into the central pacific, it jacks up the jet stream. but back in 97/98 that position was a lot closer to south america. now it looks like it's positioned a little further west. call a little more ridging or drier weather, or shift in the pattern up into the northwest vs just hammering southern california. so the bottom line is, as we continue to learn about all these things like el nino and arctic isolation, we don't know everything about them #1. we don't know how they all play together. we like to think that everybody plays nice together, right? but sometimes they don't. either way, i would still expect, at times, a stormy pattern to develop in this area, especially as we go forward into the next couple of months. it's just too strong a signal not to eventually get a least a few storms.. and we've already seen that in southern c
