dave kinchen is live in center sit the which a look at those city officials coming into those top city jobs. >> reporter: these are not just big jobs but big jobs that often require an update in the way that they are administered and mayor kenney announcing two major parts of his administration today. they will be introduced this afternoon. mayor kenney announcing adam thiel as cities new fire commissioner. the most recently serving as deputy secretary to publish safety. on public safety and home land security for the commonwealth of pennsylvania. mayor kenney's office say thiel helped lead and coordinate several state agencies and previously served as the fire chief for alexandria, virginia he will bring a home land security approach to fire enforcement and things like. that thiel replaces derrick sawyer who was appointed two years ago by mayor nutter. on the prison's side mayor kenney is naming a 21 year employee of the system to lead the system, blanch carney will be the first female in city history to serve as prison commissioner. mayor's office says carney was deputy commissioner
