fog in south jersey. right now, millville and atlantic city and delaware are looking just fine. as far as clouds are concerned and rain, that's a different story. most of the area is dry right now. we've been tracking this one thunderstorm as it makes its way towards the shore, it moves through atlantic, southern burlington and now is going strong in ocean county. still lightning with that storm and heavy downpours as well. rainfall is falling at a rate of almost 5 inches an hour. this one will move offshore and the threat of more storms, especially farther north and west could pose a flood risk for later today on those rain-soaked areas. i'm talking about the pennsylvania suburbs, the lehigh valley and the poconos. this afternoon, through this evening, that's when we'll see more thunderstorms with heavy rain bringing a flash flood threat. and before those storms take shape, we are in for another steamy day today, for the entire area. in philadelphia, we're starting off in the 70s with high humidity, though, climbing into the middle 80s. the temperatures but it's going to feel like

allentown and 86 in reading and trenton and 86 in millville and down the shore we'll settle at 81 in most shore spots. as we go into closer on the beach it looks like a great shore day. 81 and 82 in spot, ocean temperature in the mid-70s as it often is in the late season but the offshore flow coming in from the hurricane out to sea, a moderate risk of rip currents, swim near the lifeguards from south jersey to the delaware beaches as well. that risk of rip currents and heavy surf is over the next several days at least. today's high is 83 and we are back and warm and humid in mostst region. the farther south you go the stickier you fine conditions. we quickly slide into the mid-70s. and hurricane gaston, category two, and tropical depression eight and tropical depression nine have a chance to form into tropical storms today or tonight or at the latest tomorrow. tropical storm eight is one of the closest to home and the latest track is to take the center of that storm close to the outer banks but probably not in over much of the north carolina. it's still not a great day or two, you'll

tupper 80's in trenton, allentown, wilmington, millville. a couple of 90's around. down the shore it looks like low 80's for the most part. 83's and 84's but even though the temperatures on the beach are good and the ocean temperatures look good, do be careful of that combination of heavy surf and rip currents not only today but tomorrow and probably straight through most of the holiday weekend. overnight tonight after midnight there is the chance of a shower or a thunderstorm rumbling through, maybe waking you up and a little bit more of that is possible into tomorrow afternoon. we're hoping that this model is wrong and we can squeeze out some sun across most of the region but there is that chance of a lingering shower especially to the east. in the tropics gaston a category three scooting out of here. tropical depression eight still not a tropical storm. same story on tropical depression number nine. as matt mentioned, eight never made landfall, just really stayed away from cape hatteras and those outer banks so there's no more watches up there. as this passes by us today, though,
