i was campaigning for the nomination think i visited over 50 manufacturing facilities, not just in iowa but all over the country. had an economic policy focused on manufacturing and helping the american worker and was really a worker centric type of campaign. it was the reason i did as well as i did. i know from looking at the data that's by the folks that ended up voted for donald trump we got in the last primary cycle. i felt it was important that we look at who the republican party really is. it's not the same party that it was when i started getting involved in the 1980s. it's very much a blue-collar not a corporate suburban country club anymore. those voters have all gone blue. it is in a rural small town blue-collar type of constituency. leadership has never recognize that. our philosophy has never understood that these are the folks counting on us to maintain not just an economy that works for them but a culture that works for them. i wrote the book called blue-collar conservative the story i will tell about three months after i wrote it i got a call from trump and he wanted to s
