[laughs] steve: really. carolee: there are people that dress up in gilded age costumes, drive gilded age carriages with the horses, and with passengers in costumes. so this is, you know, coming to the present. my book is more about, obviously, the gilded age, but this epilogue part has been most surprising to me. i have met with some of these coachmen, i have driven with them, i have talked with them, and i am sort of just amazed and shocked that we know about civil war reenactments, but there are gilded age coaching reenactments that are going on today that are quite fascinating. they also, because it is a very expensive hobby to have that many horses, and carriages, and staff, there are people, like there is, for instance, as far as i understand, a rockefeller descendent who is a gilded age reenactor who drives carriages. so we have got an interesting gilded age reenactment going on right now. so so that is sort of the epilogue of the book. i'm working on it. i don't have a date yet, but i will keep you up

steve: you are smiling. why? prof. markwyn: well, i'm just thinking -- i was just thinking about how much i think that's still true today, and i think that -- i think that -- what i see is cultural events that are actually reveal a great deal about the community. there is so much effort and so much organization that needs to be put into hosting them, that it's often important to cooperate with the diverse variety of groups in order to make that work. and i think what i've learned the most about, to go back to your question about women, is that certainly -- women's groups, women participated in fairs in many, many different ways. the 1893 chicago exposition is the fair that people know the most about. i live in the midwest now. at least in the midwest, it's the most famous fair, and there was a woman's building, so often people said that's what it means for women to participate in fairs. to direct people to the women's building and to talk about suffrage. and i would contend that there is a lot of other things that you

steve kornacki is back with us and he has the latest numbers. steve, what do you have? >> they are all the same -- all the votes that were cast today, they are now all counted. so you've got 100% reporting from all of these counties and you can see the margin there, the margin is 1,766 votes for balderson. so the question is right now you can see that 0.9 points. that would be north of that 0.5 that triggers a recount. the question now just becomes can that survive the provisional ballots, the absentee ballots, the military votes that are out there? we think there's going to be probably a little bit north of 2,500, maybe, say, around 2,700 provisional ballots that are cast in this district. if they break democratic, you could do the math reasonably speaking if the democrats netted 700, 800 vote plurality out of the provisionals. that would take a big bite out of that. it would raise the question are they going to get within 0.5. it would not overtake balderson. we also had the question of absentee ballots, did they exist. what is the secretary of state telling us? we th
