we have seen this work in new hampshire. one example from new york. when on bardi eight needed advanced welders -- they asked the community college for coursework in advanced welding and said every graduate of this program would be given a $70,000 year job. i have already trained and placed 100 workers through that program into higher paying wages. i think the skills training must be invested in for anyone who is underemployed or unemployed. in terms of making college more affordable i think national public service is a way to get us to debt-free college. asking not what america can do for you but what you can do for america as a way to change the character of the country in one generation. also i think our debt is too high. i would allow anyone who holds debt to refinance that at the lowest rate. it's absurd that the federal government is making profit off the backs of our students so i would access -- suggest that any college -- i would do automatic refi. you have debt that you would like to get rid of doing that for the national public service prog

i want to go deeper into this new hampshire poll. this is biden's calling card, who's the candidate with the best chance to win in the general election. in new hampshire 45% say joe biden, bernie sanders 16%. that is a giant advantage he needs to hold if democrats think this is a race about that. however, i want to look at something else. who's the best candidate to handle these issues. on the economy, biden has a narrow lead, 24% to 20% for elizabeth warren. but health care is the an mating issue for many issue. senator sanders wins. he's a familiar face, he's from vermont, warren is from massachusetts, so you have to filter all that in. but if you're the former vice president, you can't lose a lot at the beginning. we may have a long democratic race. it may be one candidate wins iowa, somebody wins new hampshire, somebody else wins south carolina and we have a long, protracted race. but if you're the former vice president who came in as the giant front-runner, you've got to win early, right? >> a lot of what these early polls show

brand new poll out of new hampshire. we show you again, 24% for biden. there's bernie sanders, he won new hampshire big in the 20816 primary, within five points of biden, so is elizabeth warren, from next door massachusetts. warren, sanders within five points of biden there in that cnn poll in new hampshire. so, a close race there. now, go to south carolina. the first in the south primary. different story. biden's advantage here, more than two to one over his nearest competitor, bernie sanders, 35% for biden, only 14% for sanders. why is biden doing so much better in south carolina than he is in new hampshire, than he is in iowa? take a look. you can see the breakdown here. south carolina by race, among white voters, joe biden at 25%, among african-american voters, though, you can see, joe biden at 41%. significantly better. in south carolina, remember, well over half the electorate in the south carolina democratic primary is going to be african-american. more than 60%, probably, and wi biden with a massive lead. so, it's why biden is ahead in south caro
