[laughter] i mean, really hot. on a regular basis in the bayview, and potrero hill neighborhood and the mission, we know that those are the hotspots in san francisco. i just came from the sunset and it is hot in the sunset. i knew it was going to be even hotter in the bayview. i'm really excited to be here today because nothing brings the community together like food, and here is an incredible opportunity to really not only enjoyed the delicious food provided by some amazing vendors , but this is also an opportunity for the community to come together. when i was growing up in san francisco, we had food houses. remember? we could go to somebody's house and buy some nachos or some chicken or some banana pudding, but times have changed. we don't have the grandmothers and the folks who are the ones that were taking care of the commun

the bayview has lost its toe. without some type of plan, some type of honesty -- when i first came to bayview, they were talking about rebuilding the bayview, doing this i saw the community, they wanted to believe in something. yet, without hope, you have nothing. this supervisor has come with a vision. it's not just this one district. true, we have had violence, in the asian community. it has expanded over the last few years. i don't want to get into politics. but, san francisco is a city that has heart. i grew up here, it has always had heart. at 11-point, i was homeless. at one point, i was a drug addict. i have been clean now for 21 years, because of what the city has done and gave me a shot. i just want to say, if we give someone a shot, we can change something. they have to have hope. thank you. >> hi, i am laura, one of the hair workers. a resolution was introduced last week. i just want to thank you all ahead of time, in advance for the voting. thank you. >> thank you. next speaker, please. >> my name is l

in the bayview, we had the bayview opera house, which was saved by ruth williams. today we have a white woman, i have nothing against white women , but we have a white woman called barbara walker, who seems to know more about the culture of african-americans, it is good that she is here, i have not done this before, but i asked her to stand here, because she should be made a director to run the bayview opera house, and given the necessary funds to do whatever the other ladies who are standing behind want to do. we have community benefits, over 600 million, we can have all of the people that need help in the bayview. all of the city administrators know about it, including the mayor's. but we have people who are dipping into our community benefits for reasons, and for users that are not beneficial to the community. here you have this lady, she can be bedded out, and given an opportunity to read the bayview opera house so that the culture, when you talk about culture, you have to get deep into it. it has to be deep into your dna. most of you do not know one thing, i w

>> well, the bayview -- right now, the bayview has the highest number of structures in tents. i think a lot of folks have gone from different parts of the city and made their way out to the bayview. i know that many areas are industrial in nature, so just talking with individuals, if i'm parked out here on a particular street, no one is going to call, whereas if they park on other streets, they'll be called on. every week, we're trying to wrap our heads around what our strategy's going to be to address that issue. i know the city's been proactive about having a vehicle triage site, and that'll happen in district 11, and we're thinking about the individuals that are in the bayview, so it's a work in progress but there'll be quite a few. >> will there be more resources given to bayview, given these extremely high numbers chaired to some other areas of the city? >> well, i do think some of our plans occur in the bayview. for example, in addition to just cleaning up the site, we're having these two week encampment meetings out there, the encampments are so large, we need to place

we experience that a lot on the bayview particularly on the 19, 54 and t29. also was mentioned similar to the hill it is photography issues which creates isolated community. the shuttle program was targets seniors and young people. as well as unreliability of muni on the evenings starting as early as 43. if i need to come downtown to get here by 530 i have to leave before 430. you have to wait half an hour to 45 minutes. this happens on most of the bus lines. the project we are involved with is infrastructure. we the house community meetings throughout the last fiscal year about the service issues. unfortunately, the part we were part of did not address the service issues, it was not part of the grant for that yo budget. some solutions more bus shelters to have the arrival times for muni. also, at the very least improving service, not having people wait 45 minutes to half hour. you might have to wait five or 10 minutes. if they were on time they wouldn't need the waits because they would follow the schedule that is provided. thank you very much. >> robin crop
