we have extremely high fire danger, especially for the north bay. we have a red flag warnings in effect today and tomorrow and this is not something to be taken lightly and something you can be sure crews are not taking lightly either why we do have the potential of power outages for much of the north bay today as it's not just hot weather but then some strong winds especially from mountainous terrain, some dry tinder in the same areas and then extremely low humidity dropping at times as low as 10% if not just below that that is bone dry air and conditions ripe for wildfires, so please be mindful of this later on today planning any sort of outdoor work on into the weekend when conditions will be much cooler just use the heat and the dry weather as an excuse to take it easy today, maybe get yourself out to the coast and be mindful of those potential power outages too. they want to get to one of the spots out along the coast where you will be able to find some cool released. 70's 80's and 90's in triple digits later today, i'm breaking down exactly wh

peninsula east bay and north bay as well most of us watching definitely affected by those as far as red flag warnings we eased off or east bay foothill areas just above oakland berkeley down through the san leandro hills just about fremont too. that's good news to see that red flag warnings have expired in these areas, but they still do remain up in the north bay for napa sonoma in marine county is just north of the golden gate. so these are the areas that cruiser watching really closely today as they could provide the most winds as well still some very low humidity to now i mention that a little bit cooler than yesterday. temperatures this morning though are pretty much in just the same at 60's and 70's. a good chance to step outside for your morning hours maybe get a nice little jog in after the sun comes up would recommend it necessarily right now for oakland and hayward it's actually a little bit warmer than yesterday conquered you're in that same boat along with san jose. each 5, 6, or 7 degrees warmer. but at the same 0.24 hours ago now into the afternoon. we're still holding

our north bay area's once you had a really far up north into sonoma and santa rosa ca are up the but north of santa rosa. >>that's where you have some of that rainfall for your morning commute at least this is you look across the bay skies overall pretty clear you can see the skyline of san francisco from the north bay, a look at satellite radar it's not showing anything right now just north of our camera is where we do have a few of those sprinkles or still pretty dry at this very moment. now by 01:00pm today look at these rainfall totals that are slight uh just looking at the potential that max a 10th of an inch for some of our north bay area's. really what we're going to be seeing today is just a chance of some light sprinkles really across the day so not a whole lot of rain to be talking about isolated spots up in sonoma county as well as around marine county and even over napa county could see isolated areas where that rainfall actually does come down pretty good moderate rain to light rain expected to be pushing through late in the morning by 10:00am those lighter showers make

this is a close eye on the north bay. right now, things are looking good. 101 and highway 12 is not showing any delays. the traffic alert is on 580 eastbound. seminary is the exact location. a pickup truck was hauling a fishing boat and somehow ended up facing the wrong way. they detach and it caused a pretty big mess. they had three lanes shut down. right now, only the left lane is blocked. you're still getting by okay. traffic is light. just a heads up if you're hitting the roadways and hitting 580, you'll run into a snag. will keep a close eye on that. we should have an update in the next 10 minutes. let's head over to westbound shore freeway if you are making your way into town. we have a crash on on-ramp. other than that, we are seeing business as usual at the bay bridge. pretty typical conditions right now. this is the 880 overpass. the metering lights may have been turned on, some so traffic there. speaking of slow traffic, stop and go conditions on the altima pass. tracy on two 580, so right there, it looks a lot

a red flag warning is about to go into effect for large swaths of the north bay, east bay. >> here's a look at what communities are impacted and when. >> absolutely. we do have the critical fire weather conditions that we are facing, red flag warning for the north bay mountains, east bay hills and diablo range 9:00 p.m. tonight until 11:00 wednesday. winds out of the north-northeast gusting 30 to 40 miles an hour, humidities in the teens to 20s. you can see much of the north bay with the exception of parts of the valleys in the east bay. you will see what areas are under that red flag warning all the way down to the south bay. same general areas with the exception of the coast under a heat advisory. a larger portion of the bay area, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. tomorrow so heat-related illnesses are possible. here's what you need to know, drink plenty of fluids before you get thirsty. find some shade or ac. i know not homes are equipped with ac. wear lightweight clothing and don't forget about kids or pets inside vehicles. it can get much hotter. i'll be back to let you know how hot it's
