i am london breed, mayor of san francisco. i am excited about this incredible opportunity to open up a 200 bed navigation center in san francisco. we all know what the statistics say. we have a real problem around homelessness, and the fact is last year we helped 2146 people exit homelessness. since we have opened navigation centers in san francisco, they have helped over 5,000 people. despite what we know the challenges are, the fact is i am grateful and proud of so many of the incredible people behind me today. the people who workday in and day out to help make these navigation centers a reality, but more importantly to help the people that we know are struggling on the streets exit homelessness. we have seven navigation centers in san francisco with a few more on the way. i am really excited what we are going to be doing. at the end of the day, let's be chair clear. it -- clear. it is that we need permanent housing for people who are exiting homelessness. today we are well on our way to meeting the goal that i set of 1,000

character that makes san francisco, san francisco. we don't want to be manhattan. well, i don't want it to be manhattan. or wherever places people come from. they think that's a better choice. so again, i don't want to go on and on. but basically, we'd like to see growth. we like to see area plans be accepted. the fact that none of us on the west side have been able to do area plans is mainly because we haven't had any resources. all the resources in the city in the last few decades -- forever -- decades, have been concentrated in this area for good reasons, but still, you have to open up the purses to make sure we have resources that we can actually plan for these things on the west side. i'm glad we're starting a process of supervisor fewer and supervisor mar, we're looking at those issues. and so given all that, you know, i would be supportive of senator wiener's bill if he could make some of these amendments that gives us opportunity to make a choices, to figure out how to increase the housing stock for our areas. i don't see anyb

we are part of what makes the san francisco heart beat what it is. this is full of families and retired people. it wasn't going to happen. i am so grateful there was so much support and passionate people who put their effort to keep san francisco what it is supposed to be. very passionate people. i just i can't say enough,and i want everyone out there in the city to know you don't have to feel paralyzed. i did not know where to turn. i got a postcard from impact the next day and called them instead of throwing it away in the mail and that got the ball rolling. you don't have to be -- you are not victims. we are people who are backed by amazing humans with big heart goes to keep the city the way it is supposed to be. thank you so much. these are eventually going to push into san francisco. so we're right on the cusp of an uptick of rainfall on the peninsula as we make our way to the rest of the morning this line of showers pushes further and further inland orange red indicating this heavy downpours that stretch all the way into the east bay, the inland east bay in the south bay by 11:00am this morning. so we're all going to be checking in with heavy rain just taking a little bit longer for some of us to get in the mix that our north bay in coastal areas. well as for noon time another round of moisture pushes through a little more on e bref side this time around but enough to keep the umbrella handy as you leave for lunch and into the afternoon today a much better drive home from work still a few scattered showers isolated in nature though on into the finish of the day so a calmer finish of the day, but i'd still keep the rain jacket with you even as you're heading home from work. i don't head up into the sierra today you've got strong winds and feet of snowfall piling u

northbound from sfo into san francisco. quiet on 280 as well. seeing brake lights at the bay bridge. traffic is already starting to stack up. no accidents or incidents. if you typically make the trek out of the east bay to san francisco via the bay bridge, slow-go conditions but not quite to the maze yet but it is building. san rafael bridge, seeing some volume. more cars. overall, easy commute. about nine minutes to go between richmond over to 101 into san rafael. northbound 880 seeing things moving okay. it gets a little more slow north of here pass the coliseum. southbound 880 is where we see a few more cars on the roadway. and you will start seeing brake lights as he goes southbound from the nimitz freeway into hayward. that will affect your drive connecting on to the san mateo bridge. when you are on the san mateo bridge, taillights heading westbound toward foster city. traffic quiet here. 15 minutes between 880 and turn 11. one of the slow spots is the ultimate pass. 46 minutes. 205 over to 680. we started off the mor

san francisco 49, mid-40s for san jose, 41 for santa rosa. visibility right now we are down to zero in livermore. very dense fog. please be careful if you're traveling across the tri-valley right now. we are looking at about one mile from napa in the north bay. whether headlines, a chilly start with patchy dense fog, as we head through the afternoon a mix of clouds. today the start of a warming trend for us. a mild day ahead and we will continue to warm-up as we head through the week. by friday and for saturday the daytime highs in the low 70s. in san jose the last time san jose hit 70 degrees was back on december 12 of last year. so far we are going for the eight days since we have been in the 70s in san jose. and likely hitting that by friday. so for today in san jose mid- 60s, warmer for thursday, and there we go for friday at 70. cooling down a little bit saturday and especially by sunday. here as a satellite and radar view and the reason why, the ridge of high pressure building in and the pressure is on the temps are on the rise as we go

many of these are unique to san francisco, but not all of them. so there's an incredible competition for curb safety. you can see that all i was talking about was off-street parking. well, we do have curbs, and there's cities that are doing curbside charging. but there's such a demand for our curb space, we have been working with m.t.a. for noncurb parking. transformers, once you start charging, you need transformers, and those are going underneath the sidewalk. pg&e doesn't even understand the grid in san francisco, so having an idea where we have grid vulnerability is very difficult. the complexity of incentives, has anybody thought about buying an electric vehicle, you know if you buy a tesla or a bolt, it's going away, but if you buy a jetta, it's still there. we have something called moratorium streets. those are streets where you've paved within the last five years and you cannot repave without a waiver, so we've got a safeway on mission street, tri-america came in. all -- where that green vehicle is, that's all the charging equipment. it's
