are joined from west jerusalem to talk about what happened in tel aviv. >> well what we know is it that this attack happened at 7:15am, local time in tel aviv. the attacker boarded the company bus line number 40 on bagan road in tel aviv. what he did first is he stopped the 55-year-old bus driver who is in serious condition, who is inside the bus, and then stabbed other passengers. he fled the scene and was caught and apprehended 400m away from where this happened. he was shot in the leg, injured and not killed. according to the police he is being interrogated now. we understand of the 13, four are in serious condition. three were moderately wounded and six lightly wounded. we heard from the israeli internal security minister who said that this man from the occupied west bank was inside israel without a work visa. the last time such an attack a stabbing attack happened in tel aviv was last know a few months ago, when an israeli soldier was killed whilst struggling with an attacker that stabbed him to gath. death -- to death. >> what do we know about the background of this man, and

correspondent john hudy is live in jerusalem. what do we know about this tonight? >> martha what we know is we're learning more information about this guy. one of the witnesses who was actually on the bus and attacked said this guy had murder in his eyes. now take a look. i want to show you again that surveillance video. it is absolutely horrifying. it shows the 23-year-old palestinian man stabbing a woman in the back after jumping off the bus and trying to escape. but get this several prison security officers who just happened to be driving by they are actually taking prisoners to court, saw the bus, saw something wrong with the bus. it was swerving and then jolted to a stop. they heard the screaming. they saw all the people covered in blood and then they saw the man running with a bloody knife and went after him finally shooting him in the leg and ending the rampage. at least a dozen people were hurt, four seriously at this point. now this is what we know about the attacker. he's from the west bank. he's from a camp in the northern part of the west bank. according to police entered israel

is the atmosphere in jerusalem, aymen. >> it was a somber day throughout the country. the israeli prime minister who himself had flown to france to attend the funeral and tour the scenes where the shooting happened and participate in the unity march was on hand for the funeral. today the bodies arrived from france at 4:00 a.m. local time and brought to jerusalem where they were buried at a settlementcemetery, following a somber tribute. the president of the country delivered a powerful eulogiology, describing that is not how they wanted the four individuals to come to israel to come to visit the country alive instead they are coming as murdered victims. instead the prime minister also called on world leaders to do more to combat anti-semitism. and he also paid a tribute to the four victims that were here. we saw hundreds of mourners gather in the early-morning hours. many of them waving the israeli and the france flag and the sign je suis charlie. but it has to do with the growing threat the anti-semitic on the rise here and many say they should do more to bring jews to israel and
