washington. >> reporter: good morning, christine and dave. e-mails revealed that roger stone was in touch with the senior member of the trump campaign about wikileaks. roger stone decided to release the e-mails for the caolumn, "te daily caller." and one writes to roger stone and says what was that this morning. wh it was a big october surprise and many of trump supporters thought that it meant a bombshell about hillary clinton. that is not what happened. instead, julian assange released no new information. in the e-mail replay to bannon, he said there were security concerns. he said however, a load every week going forward. this is another instance where roger stone is predicting what wikileaks is about to do.

plane? essentially the brand new boeing jet. >> reporter: well, you know, i talked to one aviation expert who really raised the flag from open source flight data about the doomed plane, it seemed to be accelerating as it headed to the java sea 13 minutes after takeoff. not just from gravity, but it seemed like the engines were thrusting to drive it into the ocean at such speed that the salvage operation is struggling to find large pieces of the plane. we have gotten reports that perhaps some of the wheel withes from the land -- wheels from the landing gear, two have been recovered. it seems like this plane was smashed to bits in a short period of time after takeoff. the investigation here which will be greatly helped by the fact that the flight data

recorder was retrieved yesterday to some fanfare and displayed reference by the rescue workers. the workers have been complimented by the u.s. representatives of the ntsb and federal aviation administration and boeing, the manufacturers of the boeing 737 and general electric who helped make the plane's engine. you have experts from all different fields to be part of the investigation. the identification of remains is very difficult work. for example, there are 20 dentists that have been brought in to help identify tooth fragments that may be retrieved from the crash site. >> ivan, thank you so much for that. in jakarta for us this morning. the fiancee of murdered "washington post" journalist

coast killed ougall 189 people aboard. we have our correspondent ivan watson live with the latest. ivan, the issue suggests this plane went rapidly and aggressively into the ocean. >> reporter: yeah. 350 miles an hour. some aviation experts who looked at the open source data suggests not only was the plane out of control, apparently, and plummeting toward the java sea, but it also appears as if the engines were thrusting at that time aiming toward the sea. it was moving at very high speed. to try to figure out why this happened and how, the indonesian investigators have been complimented by representatives from the federal aviation administration and national transportation safety board and boeing, the manufacturers of the new boeing 737 max and general

electric. the company that helped build the plane's engine. as far as the salvage operation, we have seen the images of the navy pulling up wheels from the landing gear from the plane. i also looked at indonesian navy footage of divers on the sea bed wrapping a rope around what looks like perhaps one of the engine turbines. on the sea bed. we are talking about 100 feet below the surface of the sea. the bed is littered with wreckage which from what aviation experts say from the speed which the aircraft impacted, it looked like it smashed this plane to pieces. a very difficult salvage effort and hopefully the investigation will be helped by the discovery yesterday of the data flight recorder. christine. >> all of the technical experts from ge which made the engines and boeing.

all that expertise to figure out what happened to a new airplane. ivan, thank you. second round of u.s. sanctions against iran set to take effect on monday. the trump administration targeting tehran oil, gas and financial sectiosectors. fred pleitgen is joining us from tehran where evening prayers are just getting started. fred, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, dave. a lot of anger here at the united states as the u.s. is imposing the second round of sanctions. these are the big ones. iran's oil and gas sector is a big part of the economy. the iranians are battening down the hatches. trying to be more reliant than before. with gas and oil as a big factor in the economy, that is difficult to do. one of the things i picked up on the streets here, it seems a lot of the rhetoric from the trump administration and president trump has done absolutely nothing to weaken the iranian government. a lot of people who say they believe their president, hassan
