mexico trade agreement. the administration is inviting congressional leaders to the white house to discuss iran. that meeting is expected at 3:00 eastern. members of congress earlier held a closed door briefing on the ongoing tensions with iran after a u.s. drone was shot down by iran's revolutionary guard yesterday. senator lindsey graham and eliot engel spoke to reporters after the briefing. house speaker pelosi also talked about iran in her weekly briefing this morning. >> yes, sir. >> reporter: we're going to shut down -- shot down the drone over international waters. the president says iran has made a big mistake. iran says it's ready for war. you called for a debriefing. how do you think the administration should respond? >> first, we're going to -- the reason we called the meeting earlier today, thank you for accommodating that is at 11:00 we'll have a briefing, i think

it's now expanded to a gang of 20. that includes leadership and senior members, democrats and republicans, house and senate on committees of jurisdiction. and so we'll learn more in that briefing as to what is happening there. i think it's a dangerous situation. high tension wires are up in the region. we have to be strong and strategic about how we protect our interest. we also cannot be reckless in what we do. so it will be interesting to see what they have to say, whether the -- i don't think the president wants to go to war. there's no appetite for going to war in our country. and so we want to see what they have to say, and then i have called for a broader briefing for more members but they're starting with this briefing this morning. so this afternoon between 4:00 and 5:00 i'll have a meeting for my members to hear from some experts on the iran
