i am very embarrassed by what i see in some of our cities are the politicians are either afraid to do something about it, or they think it is right. i don't know, peter, what they are thinking, but when you look at los angeles, san francisco, and some of the other cities, not a lot, but you don't want to despair. ,t a certain point, the federal i think, has to get involved. we cannot allow this to continue to happen to our cities. ladies and gentlemen, thank you a lot. in southe some of you korea, maybe at the dmz, but thank you very much. thank you. korea is not just to say hello. part of the tweet earlier this evening, the president talked with th about the tweet while meeting with the saudi arabia crown prince. with trump: pleasure to be the crown prince of saudi arabia, a friend of mine, a man who has done things in the last five years in terms of opening up saudi arabia, and i think is actually what you have done for women -- especially what you have done for women, it is like a revolution in a positive way, and i want to thank you come on behalf of a lot of people, and i was to congratulate you. a spectacular job. we have had some meetings, and the meetings have been really terrific. as you know, saudi arabia is a big purchase of american products standr especially american military equipment. we make the best in the world. they create at least a million purchases made by saudi arabia, so we are very happy to be with you. great honor.
very happy to be with you. thank you. would you like to say something? >> thank you, mr. president, for your warm welcome. we try to do all of this, and we believe my people, the saudi people, for the last few years, and we tried to do more. we did a lot of political achievement on the believel side, so i that -- both countries for job creation, more for both countries, and we hope to do more. pres. trump: almost at the top of the list is your fight on terror. for a long time, there were questions as to whether saudi arabia and other countries were supporting terror, and
tremendous effort has been put on to the exact opposite way. forll of the money is going things that we do not like, and they were not good, you have ceast, we have followed appreciate that, in the world has appreciated that, so thank you for that, and we appreciate you being here. >> thank you, mr. president. >> what about jamal khashoggi, sir? >> [overlapping questions] pres. trump: well, i will be going to south korea. we were with president moon, and all it did was put out if he would like to meet, and he sent me a very beautiful birthday card. i guess he got my return letter, because it is in the newspapers,
reading the return letter, but i just put out, i just thought of it this morning, the area, we may go to the dmz or the border, as they call it. by the way, when you talk about a wall, when you talk about a you call aat is what border. nobody goes through that order. -- border. we have some big meetings with president moon. we have 40,000 troops in south korea. we will see soldiers, we will be making a speech to the soldiers, incredible. built by the south koreans for us was a $10 million base, a latest and greatest, something's actual. -- something special. most of you know the schedule better than anybody.
so we will be there. i just put out a few that i do not know where he is right now, but i said is chairman ken would want to meet, i will be at the border. we seem to get along very well. that is a good thing, not a bad thing. for the stupid people who say, "oh, he gets along," it is good to get along. along, wenot get would be having a war with north korea. and that is a certainty, not a maybe. we are prisoners back from our hostages back, safely back. and we are very happy about that. we are very happy about the remains. they have additional remains of our great heroes from many years ago, and if you remember they were brought into hawaii, mike pence, the vice president, was
there, and most importantly, they have not been any nuclear tests, they have not done any large-scale ballistic tests, so a lot of things have happened since the days we were in japan, and it seemed every week somebody was calling me to say missiles were being shot over japan. and maybe the happiest of what we have done are the japanese people, and our great prime minister abe, he is a great prime minister, the trimester of japan -- the prime minister of japan. will be in south korea. i let him know. we will see if we see each other for two minutes, that will be find here some of you will be there. >> what about jamal khashoggi, sir? anna crown prince? pres. trump: thank you very much. thank you ray i will be meeting with president xi at 12:00
