on this edition of the world story. somalia rehabilitating former al shabaab fighters thailand one year after the dramatic cave rescue. but we start out in mexico where narcotics cartel has been threatening reporters with abduction and murder over 100 media workers have suffered this fate here in the past 20 years seen a part of a skate with her life. got a call a desperate voice saying we found bodies again the reporter knows the woman who called her she belongs to a group of mothers looking for their missing children now it's become a search for bodies. the. reports life then we will be more hello when one has a leo's with the searches of. this they were told that there might be secret mass graves here they have discovered one little this well these women's loved ones have
disappeared here we can see the bones of wessel's playmobil said it was most likely the money has been reporting on the searching mothers for years and the vast majority of cases it turns out that their children were abducted and killed by the sea drug cartel. by covering the story to put herself in jeopardy she regularly receives death threats. a few years ago the threats almost became reality. was kidnapped arias that is going to be almost my life was in danger i knew they'd either kill me or let me go but i had already seen their faces. please get back to so i was sure they would kill me or know that you know this yeah one of them said it was time and made this just year. old girl member it won't matter one asked me if i had
a last wish. there would be more there. god bless you. for joining the fair attorney my daughters and 2 orphans was there in the gussie's of this there in the us and let god like your password and may you be well get they will mean i mean i go i asked him for a boy re and the words moved the kidnappers they let her go. to see nice family is constantly aware of the danger she faces every day. her sister allowed to choose a name always worried about her will isn't. that i'm sad because i know that something happened to her that i'm. because i know that she's not safe when she's working.
still both are very proud of. us but i'll go she's always given 100 percent and 100 percent extra. and. a year has passed since a junior boy's football team was rescued from a flooded cave in thailand. we talked to one of the divers who took part in the daring rescue. when i arrived to to the cape and tickets where i get to be found we were going out there not knowing 100 percent of what kind of vision i'll be going into i'd be going in to save some kids or the going to recover some bodies and i think myself and many of the other risk groups we were probably expecting to find at least some of them not at all. it was terrifying to think about that maybe you're going to be
diving around and then the next thing you go to bump into is that good and they turn into a happy that that was not the situation. i was part of getting before the 1st kids out any kind of work pretty good. i was sitting in the 6 chamber which is hoss way into where he put the kids where i found our mission myself and my dive buddies busy voice to support the divers and the kits as they were coming out. so we could actually see the diver all see the life of the diver way before we can see the diver and i remember that reddy vividly i'm sitting on one of the banks together with my dive buddy and i can see this go into water i'm jumping into the water the water is about chest high at this point and i'm running towards that i thought he's dragging something to the water. i know what that is that is one of the kids but at this point i didn't know what condition the kid was so that i still remember coming
around him that he's coming up and i can see that topples scaping from the kid's last going to equipment which indicates to me that the kidneys is breathing and i was told he needed to know he said all right. maybe he's injured maybe something else is wrong with him but he said. i was the last person to leave the cave that night at this point all of the kids have already been evacuated to the hospital and was under treatment i still remember coming into the story a charter boat which is where the diving ins i remember one of the american divers just said to me i've been they're all fine they're all alive. while i thought they were because i sold it for busy divers phew i was really you know i didn't know and it was fantastic tool to get that in there good news that yeah that far i don't feel like a hero and i don't think any of us do because we were just doing what we do what every day but we've been doing something that we we all love to do you good thing
and i think that that's the most it's just you know. if you go again sure 100 percent yes i will go again. i think the biggest takeaway that that i had formed from this experience is that i learned that absolutely nothing is impossible if you work together if you have a mission and don't forget also a good planning then you can do everything. to use modest militia has been waging a terrorist campaign against somalia's government for over a decade now. and thought killed for the group until they succeeded in escaping its grasp. that theme of pontificating machine terrorizing some population but now that i. asking for forgiveness this facility. is home to 86 young men who used to fight for one of the deadliest
islamist extremist groups in the world. the fighters here mostly men aged between 20 and 29 have been granted amnesty and are seeking a 2nd chance to have them why they decided to defect. for their safety and security we have withheld the location and real identities by calling them that. he says i was just 15 years old when he joined the group 5 years ago with boredom but could be you know at 1st people join because a religion they say they're promoting religion but this is just a front actually killing innocent people for no reason or to fight in this could be . similarly who joined us above at the age of 16 it took him 8 years to escape from the group. if they also killed muslims in that attack when i saw my people dying i decided i had to break away had been. through so.
many men growing up in disenfranchised and poor parts of the country been led into joining us above for financial reasons and a sense that belonging. to address this these men now receive occasional training in hands on group classes. i did not know how to live within society i learned that here i've learned how to support myself. but many here are still haunted by nightmare as they struggle to fathom how they were capable of such violence. and the rehab taishan facility these young men receive professional psychological support. but above all it's companionship and leisure time that are helping them to overcome that trauma. but what we can talk to each other about all the things we've done wrong and give each other support about how not to fall back into our destructive ways. for somalia to help for the birth of
a united government and for my life i hope to work for the benefit of my country and for my people with their new skills he sent men to intend to make a positive contribution to society again. to help other young people fun p.p.d. than mistake of joining up in the 1st place. many people are putting high hopes on greece's newly elected government we spoke with the residents of the island of of china about their hopes and expectations for the new prime minister curiosity to talk he's. fishing around again on an island just off the coast of athens. stelios darrius runs the boat with his father he's the thought generation of his family to make his living on the water today he's taken his friend you want to go along for company

lower class people. i'm expecting this as well from the new government many meghna hope the new government will cut taxes especially the widely unpopular real estate tax the incoming prime minister meets of tackiest also wants to attract more investment and create jobs promises that vicki perasso given has heard over and over again she's been looking for work for years today she's praying for a miracle from egging us capture in st she hopes he will help you react cause mitt's attack is to finally bring change everybody promise this is a public callous late promise but now. dean's had a very difficult he has to do it if you will not do what he's got he promised he would have a very big problem from the from the people is we are not like before we had looked like before we don't forgive setting a course for you to mimic recovery many believe in government as just one chance to
get it right half a 1000000 young greeks have already left the country due to the economic crisis but that's something these 2 friends don't want to do they plan to stay on and fight for a better future. and i want my ahlam. world on fire up the. 15 years since to me. he was the 1st man to walk on. and off for. as a small boy he dreams of the stars. as a pilot consumed anything no matter to. me go to them.
