house strategist, steve bannon. right here on the wall street journal at large. thank you for joining us. fox business network. have a good weekend. [♪] lou: good evening, the radical dems have gone stark raving haywire. they are distancing themselves farther from middle american and the american way each and every day. this week alone the dimms have parades and celebrated the convicted liar, michael cone. they dismissed special counsel mueller's findings before they have been released. they signaled they will stop at nothing to overthrow the house presidency and they voted in support of giving illegal immigrants to vote. yesterday they couldn't bring
themselves to condemn the anti-semitic remarks of comb krat i can freshman congresswoman ilhan omar. they passed a bill that as congressman doug collins said effectively amounts to a rule any child should know, that is, be nice. >> for the second time in 8 weeks, i am here with my friend from new york debating a resolution all of us should have learned in kindergarten. be nice. don't hate. this resolution doesn't need to be 7 pages. lou: president trump slapped the radical dimms over their refusal to denounce congressman omars radical words. president trump: i thought the vote by the house was
disgraceful. the democrats have become an anti-israel party, an anti-jewish party, and i thought that vote was a disgrace and so does everybody else if you get an honest answer. lou: catherinecatherine herridge repd that michael cohen men with adam schiff before his hearing before the house. >> mr. cohen said they talked about topics that would be raised at the hearing. mr. schiff said i just alleviated any fears he had and talked about practical concerns. those are two different stories. they did 10 hours of preparation with this witness and he came into congress and still lied to us. there is always a little bit of
interaction with a witness prior to a hearing. but 10 hours, several trims to his location in new york, that's very unusual. lou: judicial watch's tom fitton will join us on that and the conspiracy against president trump. we learned late this afternoon that president xi jinping canceled a planned meeting with president trump as china's exports to the united states plummet, the china economy continues to falter. >> we'll do well either way, with or without a deal. if we don't make a good deal for our country, i wouldn't make a deal. if this isn't a great deal, i won't make a deal. lou: asia expert gordon chang is with us tonight. the 9 ther -- the 9th circuit ct
of appeals writes a new law giving illegal aliens the right to appeal their rejection from refugee status. welcome to a never-before seen version of america. we'll be talk about this new country being created by the radical dimms. a politically corrupt government and the radical left-wing judiciary. former acting i.c.e. director tom whole man angels today vaughn. our top story, the u.s.-trade talks not progress together satisfaction of either side. chinese president xi canceled a trip to mar-a-lago to meet with president trump.
what does it mean for the trade deal at least in the short-run? >> this evening the chinese removed a trip to mar-a-lago from xi jinping's calendar. the chinese are talking about sending another delegation to finish the delegation. the chinese government officials concerned that president trump will walk away from the talks, causing the chinese president to lose face. president trump: i'm confident. but if we don't make a good deal for our country, i wouldn't make a deal. if this isn't a great deal, i will not make a deal. reporter: it does not mean the deal is dead. it means the two presidents will not meet at march. the trade representative said the talks are continuing. larry kudlow says there are teleconference with the chinese set up for the next 7 days.
the last face-to-face two weeks ago the chinese agreed on some enforcement. >> we'll get an enforcement procedure which says if you play by these rules we are fine. but if it's reported you don't play by these rules, we'll have to take action. it will resolve around tariffs, and the other side will have to sit by and not use tariffs? >> the chinese introduced a law barring foreign government agencies and employees from demanding company secrets. it sets up a legal system to enforce that law. a foreign investment law set up today with no mention of the forced partnerships. lou: thank you very much. joining us tonight, columnist,
author, asia expert, gordon chang. as we listen to these developments today, it sounds like this is going to be a rougher road than many people were expecting a month or two months ago. but at the same time it sounds like this is a reality check for both sides. >> it's a good thing for us. we should not be rushing into an agreement. the chinese economy is cratering. you see that in the import numbers for china. down 6%. so clearly we can link this out. but we shouldn't have an agreement. the reason is the chinese never honor their trade agreements. when they don't like a trade agreement, they don't honor it. so these are one-way agreements for us. the chinese don't adhere to them, but we do. so we shouldn't be thinking about this. lou: even the most of crazy
boosters of u.s. multi-nationals that cost us trillions of dollars. the chambers of commerce wants an enforceable agreement. there is some discussion today in at least the early afternoon when we learned about the national congress introducing a law to stop forced transfers. there was a little mild uptick in the market as a result of that. what do you make of it? >> in china a law is not what a law is in the united states. chinese officials say we have got a communist system. you have officials say look at the law, that's just the province of an unimportant department of the central government. so we have to understand, law does not make a difference. chinese officials will do what they want. so a new foreign investment law,
i'm glad larry kudlow is happy, but it won't make a practical difference. >> larry kudlow always free trader working for a fair trade president. it is interesting that we saw this chinese economy continue to flow through 2018. and create record surpluses and trading the united states and the world. this most of precent report showing it's -- its exports had fallen by 20%. its imports had fall bin 25%. we understand now it looks like they would be able to resist the tariffs. but based on this report it indicates those tariffs are starting to work. >> the chinese economy was slowing on its own.
lou: i'm not only focus opening trade right now. in trade it looks as though there is a real bite in terms of overall trade. >> especially to the u.s. exports to the u.s. dropped precip usually. the on solution for us, lou. we disengage our economy from theirs. that way they can't hurt us as much. we should be helping our friends. so we want trade, we should trade with good partners, not with china. >> where are we finding these partners? the european union? >> relatively good partners. >> the same is true of the united states. some of this is mindless. the folks in the european union, particularly germany and france have enjoyed as the president
puts it some stupid u.s. leadership that let them get away with these policies. happily we have a president making certain those days are over. thanks for being with us. up next, michael cohen and adam schiff' shared different accounts of their long long meetings. they must have enjoyed each other's company. they saw something in each other perhaps they could relate to. these meetings going on for hours before cone's public testimony. >> what did you talk to mr. schiff about? >> i spoke to mr. schiff about topics that were going to be raised at the upcoming hearing. >> just inviting him to testify and allay his concerns about the president's threats against him and his family. lou: we'll ask judicial watch's
intelligence committee chairman adam schiff and his staff met at least four times with cohen before his testimony last month. the meetings lasted a total of 10 hours. joining us tonight, tom fitton, the president of judicial watch. good to see you. let's start with what in the world were they doing with 10 hours? is that regular order now on capitol hill? >> it's highly irregular and arguably corrupt. if you talk to staff or a member, it's a five-minute phone call, what are you going to talk about, you sound like a good witness. come own. you present your testimony written ahead of time. the idea you had mr. schiff collaborate or collude with mr. cohen -- lou: i'm sure collusion is his
preferred language. >> is extraordinary. he has a demonstrated record of ethical misconduct. there is a pending ethics investigation based on the judicial watch request over his confirming classified information inappropriately. you had the secret meeting with glenn simpson. he's been called out on the cohen issue. lou: why sent recused as chairman of the house intelligence committee? it seems like that would be the automatic result since he insisted devin nun's recuse himself as chairman. you don't need to follow the rules if you are out to get president trump. this is not just a scandal more mr. cone. it's a scandal for adam schiff and his staff who enabled this man to come before congress and
lie. they met with him for 10 hours. what do they know and when did they know it about this false testimony money. lou: you at judicial watch releasing records that show bruce ohr kept his contact with christopher feel, the former m.i.-6 agent who fabricated the dossier to create the special counsel and carry out espionage in points of fact against the president of the united states. >> it's an extraordinary batch of documents showing collusion between a leader at the justice department, number 4, bruce ohr and the employer of his wife, fusion gps, christopher steele, glenn simpson, nellie ohr. simpson -- that steele and ohr were communicating repeatedly
about this effort to get trump on russia, and they were doing it not only during 2016, but after steele was fired by the fbi as confidential informant and during the mueller operation. it further undermines what is almost the whole credibility of the mueller operation. lou: i would equitable with you over one word. almost. >> less than zero. how's that? >> that strikes me in the range of highly accurate. let's turn to congressman doug collins releasing the transcript of the bruce ohr hearing without the justice department approval. i guess he's had a belly full, hasn't he? >> the republicans have been waiting for months and months for the justice department to review ferrells that was not
classified and they have been sitting on it to protect the mueller operation designs to overthrow president trump. it's good that they released the ohr transcripts. but there are other transcripts that the doj has had time to chime in on and they should release it to the american people, especially to counter act the lies coming out of the congress about president trump. there has to be some truth telling. good to have you here. we would like to hear your thoughts on this. share your comments. follow me on twitter. follow me on instagram @loudobbstonight. coming up next. the liberal 9th circuit court making it harder to deport asylum seekers. they are writing laws. these are quite some people on

current rate of adjudication to resolve them. i.e., they don't work. the ruling will likely be appealed. joining us tonight is tom holman, great to have you with us, tom. jessica vaughn, director of policy at the center for immigration studies. the projections are as many as one million illegal immigrants will be apprehend at our southern border this year. what will happen to those folks? will they all be deported? is that the result? or will they be indeed clogging up the system? >> they will be clogging up the system. 60% of them will be released into the country to settle in
all oath country and probably will be living here indefinitely and will be added to that immigration court backlog. most of of them won't even fill out the asylum application. it seems the 9th circuit will allow them to appeal to the federal courts. lou: the democratic house of representatives. >> it's a crisis at the border. if this pace continues with what when have seen this year with hundreds and hundreds being apprehended every day and released into the country. this will be the highest level of illegal settlement since at least 2000. maybe even before that. it is -- it's fully out of control and it's getting worse and worse. lou: obviously so. the house democrats as you know, tom, today making it clear that they want to give the right to
vote to illegal immigrants on top of everything else. and they deny there is a crisis because they have a million voters coming acros across the , in their judgment. the question becomes where is the border patrol, where is immigration and customs enforcement. where is all that wire and where are the u.s. troops on our southern border? how can this be? >> congress has refused to close loopholes. let's talk about i.c.e. if congress is failing to fix it legislatively then we have to do what we can operationally to address the surge. we need a nationwide operation, they need to look for these people and were ordered removed. then go find them. arrest them and remove them to show -- i did that back about three years ago, and that had an immediate impact on illegal
crossing plummeted because we showed we have consequences. so i think i.c.e. and the dems are going to raise holy heck that we are arresting family members. but the democrats can't demand to see a judge, demand they have a right to see the judge. but once the judge said removal. you have to remove them or there is no integrity in our system. lou: let me refresh everyone's thinking about what happens when you have a million people crossing the border. i don't know what the current ratio is, when i was covering the border when i was down in arizona the ratio was 3-1. for every apprehended illegal immigrant apprehended, there were three that made it over. >> they are now turning
themselves over to the border patrol. the reason there are such big family groups coming across. the cartel send them that way. so they move drugs and bad people through a different sector. people are taking advantage of the family groups. lou: what we do know is this is a disaster. it is a national emergency. and jessica, we heard tom's view of what should be done. it makes all the sense in the world to me. this president could order that straightforwardly. would you agree that's the best course? >> absolutely. this is a huge mess for ice to have to pick up the pieces for. but we have to get to the point where we are just not letting people enter the united states just because they have asked for asylum. lou: how do we do that? >> the administration is testing a new policy called the migrant
protect protocols. if they want to ask for asylum. we let them do that. but they have to wait in mexico. lou: obviously that's not working because they are coming into this country. they are entering the country and not being sent back. at these numbers the border patrol can't contend with them. >> the policy has not been implemented across the whole border. lou: why in the world is not the head of the department of homeland security being fired? >> i wouldn't call it a success right now. lou: you wouldn't call it a success. okay, i'll put you down. it's not a success. i'm asking, what do you do -- >> you will have to fire all the members of congress, too. lou: tom, are you telling me we can't hold accountable the
people responsible for securing the border coming up with solutions for this president and the american people? >> i have never seen it this bad. think about the people coming here, they are not going home. back which was a border patrol agent, we would turn them around the same day. we have to locate and remove them. lou: are you telling me the department of homeland security in a national emergency with these people flooding across that border simply throw their hand up, the director of dhs, the head of customs and border protection, they throw up their hand and everybody sits down and the whole department is paralyzed? are you kidding me? >> i don't think they are paralyzed. why don't they do something. >> it's clearly not enough creative thinking going on.
their hand are tied by a lack of fund, a lack of support from congress and crazy judge ruling. but they need to be working with mexico to stop these people. >> we heard that. we heard about mexican return in certain sectors. to this point it's all bull. the fact of the matter is, it's an absolute national emergency. and the people who are responsible aren't even moving. they are sitting on their hand -- i love the dhs secretary kirstjen nielsen telling county's a crisis and unsustainable. tom homan do you think we'll get it done or not? >> we have to remove people who have due process and as soon as the immigration judge is removed. we have to remove them.
i did it three years ago and i'd works. lou: can the president order it now? >> i think he could. it need to be done. >> he definitely could do that. and that will be the only thick that will change people's calculation on whether they should come. he needs to start sending people home. >> by the way, remember right now the border patrol is serving as a welcome wagon and the people coming across that introard been sent by the major drug cartels of mexico. thank you very much. appreciate it. up next, jussie smollett in deepening trouble. and the radical left refusing to condemn illegal immigrants voting in our elections.
lou: creepy porn lawyer michael after that yims law firm filing for bankruptcy. a former law partner accuses the firm of financial she man gans. jussie smolletting indicted on 16 felony counts. he'll be arraigned march 14. house democrats voting in support of illegal immigrants voting. joining us tonight, mark morgan. the former u.s. border patrol chief under president trump. a 20-year agent for the federal bureau of investigation. i'm partial to your time as deputy sheriff having worked with the yuma county sheriff for many a year.
great to have you with us. let's start with this incredible surge of illegal immigrants across our border. with the house voting on motions that their vote is an invite to illegal immigrants to have the right to vote, they are blocking enforcement at the border. the' coast appeal saying come on in. you will be tbroint our federal appellate system as well. your reaction? >> this is truly amazing. the 9th circuit have become the circuit court of appeals for mexico. what tom homan said, your previous guest, this is something that should shock the
american people. the numbers will be around a million. the difference people have to understand is 90% of them were being removed. but now bawsms other judicial activism, now that the demographic are children and family units, 69% of them will be sittinged in the united states. 670,000 individuals will be released into the united states and ultimately they will have the right to vote. lou: the ratio used to be in the border patrol for every one apprehended there were three who made it through. that ratio would suggest that as many as four nim people would be crossing the border into the united states illegally in one year. >> it's hard to prove what we don't know. but those numbers have been accurate in the past.
what you are looking at now tom said it best. because the caravans are getting larger and larger and the number of individuals are seek asylum. the cartels are taking advantage of that. i think the numbers are going into crease and so are the drugs and other bad people as well. the border patrol, the commissioner said this week that because of the humanitarian crisis. 25 to 40% of the border patrol resources are taken off the line to be daycare providers instead of enforcing the border against the cartel. lou: the democratic party has lost its mind and committed itself to illegal immigrants in favor of american citizens. it's so far afield from anything
american in its concerns. not the nation, not the people. it's extraordinary. i wanted to turn, if i may, very quickly, and i want to talk with you extensively at some point here soon about this. but working in the fbi at the senior level, we are watching william barr, the new attorney general move in. are you hopeful he'll be able to clean up the fbi, its leadership so toxic and corrupt over so many years. do you think he'll be able to restore that agency to its storied status in this country? >> absolutely. here is what i will say. i think what's important. you bring up a great issue. what the american intreem to realize. issues with the fbi was at the senior levels, the very top and small select group of individuals that did some bad things and made some bad decisions.
the rank and file, the overwhelming majority of the fbi are continuing to uphold the constitution and protect the american people. so that's what we have to remember. i think the individuals at the fbi that we have issues with, they are gone. but i think the new attorney general along with the new director of the fbi wray, i think they are making good progress to reset the prepare takes of the fbi. lou: i would like to talk to you in greater detail within the next week or so. we have so many issues and challenges for this country and this president. we appreciate your insight and perspective. the u.s. military has a huge personnel problem. we want to put it in some perspective. since the 1975 drawdown from the vietnam war, our armed forces
have been depleted. now the country that's 50% larger than it was then, the gdp almost 20 times larger. there are 830,000 fewer men and women in uniform. broken down by branch. care force 291,000, the army 321,000, the marine corps declined by 10,000. there are 207,000 fewer sailors in our navy. that's extraordinary. we are talking about over a 44-year period. our military has been in point of fact than is no other way to say this. eviscerated by succeeding presidents of both parties and congresses. it's time, past time, that we elected a president like one donald j. trump to get this thing turned around. but the american people have to know how severe the crisis is.

lou: congresswoman ilhan omar has moved from bashing -- anti-he mittics to bashing president obama. she claims she was misquoted. she didn't bac backtrack much fm her anti-semitic remarks, did she. joining me, pastor robert jeffress. he's in jerusalem tonight. great to have you with us. first, talk here last night with
the ambassador about how this looks to the rest of the world, which is a perspective most of of us don't take up initially on this. the anti-semitism that the democratic party seems to embrace. your thoughts on what is going on. >> the democrats refusal to condemn hateful speech is the latest evidence that the democrats have become an extremist party, they are become a godless party. just think what we have seen recently. they tried to remove god from an oath of office. they are supporting the barbaric practice of late-term abortion. now they are condoning hateful speech against the jewish people the bible says are the apple of god's eye. they are waging wars against the
judeo-christian principles upon which this country was founded. i think there is a backlash building against this that will result in the reelection of president trump in 2020. >> that is good news. i worry. you are in jerusalem. these remarks without question are anti-semitic. no matter what nancy pelosi wants to pretend. how -- have you heard reaction there? how must the people of israel peel about watching a congresswoman spew such bile. >> they are perplexed. they are perplexed by this because in 70 years, the last 70 years, support of israel has not bean partisan issue it's been a
bipartisan issue. there has been bipartisan support for israel. harry truman, a democrat, was the president who preside over the birth of the israeli nation. they are perplexed why this has become so partisan. and they are encouraged by the you are port of president trump. i am not exaggerating when i say i can't walk down the streets of jerusalem without being stopped by people who want to thank me for my support of president trump. they say president trump macedon more for israel than any president in history. lou: certainly more than the one you mentioned, harry truman. it's always good to get your perspective and to see you in the holy land. i have to believe you feel very, very comfortable there.
