all the time we have left. let not your heart be troubled because the weekend is starting in 10, 9, 8, right about now. and fox and friends tomorrow morning and weekend. we'll see you monday. o'reilly factor is on. tonight: [gunfire] >> we heard three or four loud explosions. we heard gunfire ringing out. >> three terrorists shot dead in france after at least 17 innocent people murdered over the past three days. we'll have an up-to-the-minute report and take to you france. >> the streets of paris the world scene once again what terrorists stand for. they have nothing to offer but hatred and human suffering. >> unfortunately there little talk but a lot of action in imposing the worldwide jihad. but why? we will have a factor investigation. did charlie hekd go too far.
8:01 pm
should they be more considerate to -- >> yes, i think that they should have been more sensitive. >> also ahead, the left continuing to make excuses for terrorism generated by radical islam. once again, we'll confront that tonight. >> caution, you are about to enter the no spin zone. the factor begins right now. ♪ ♪ hi, i'm bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. terrorism wins again. that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. over the past few days in france at least 17 innocent people have been killed by radical muslims. really doesn't matter what group they are affiliated with. these killers are all the same. they murder torture, rape in the name of their god allah. they kill their own they kill infidels and they think they are going to heaven for doing that.
8:02 pm
now, mystery reporting of the story in france. so tonight let's bring you up to date. on wednesday morning about 11:30 pairs time two gunmen cherif kouachi and his brother invaded the offices of charlie hebdo. there they killed 11 people. prophet muhammad. the brothers who say they were then fled the scene, killing a police officer in the process. another terrorist who knew the brothers killed a police woman a few miles away. then today at 8:10 a.m. french time, the brothers who attacked the magazine are spotted. and a shootout ensues, eventually they take refuge in a printing works plant.
8:03 pm
at 5:00 this afternoon, police storm that plant. there is a shootout, both brothers are killed. the hostage they were holding is freed. meantime, the terrorists who killed the police woman takes a number of people hostage at a jewish supermarket. just 15 minutes after the kouachi brothers are killed. kills not before he kills hostage and wounds two others. the get away driver for the brothers surrendered to police yesterday. the other, a woman, who helped the supermarket killer is still being hunted. all in all, this was the worst terror attack on french soil in decades. again, i want to make this point, it doesn't matter whether these people are al qaeda, isis, boko ha realm or any other insane group. they are all killing people in the name of islam.
8:04 pm
but as talking points reported last night rather than confront the jihad, many people including president obama are doing everything they can to avoid the central issue. how do you defeat muslim terrorism? instead, we constantly hear this kind of stuff. >> we stand for freedom and hope in the dignity of all human beings that's what the city of paris represents to the world. >> we have to acknowledge and muslims indeed do acknowledge that there is a legitimate problem within islam. but at the same time that we acknowledge that there is a real issue here of extremism within this vast religion we have to be very very careful not to engage in religious profiling and to recognize that, you know one can't blame 1.6 billion inherents of this vast and complex religion. >> now we asked mr. kristof there who writes for the "new york times" to appear with us. he will not because he is afraid.
8:05 pm
he is scared. he is one of the chief apologists for islam throughout the world. as soon as the mass murder took place on wednesday he turned off a mass column in essence don't blame the muslims, no, no, no. at this point everybody knows that blaming all muslims for terrorism is stupid and wrong. but even more foolish is the world looking away from the continuing threat. maybe mr. kristof and other left-wing media should address this question. why is there no coordinated strategy to defeat the jihad after all this time? and that's the memo. now for the top story tonight, let's go to paris france where fox news correspondent amy kellogg is standing by. amy, it's the middle of the night over there. anything new? >> bill a lot of forensic's work still going on. and some pits and pieces of detail about some of the moments in the standoff in the last couple of days here. basically, we have heard from the prosecutor in paris

8:08 pm
anyway? what is that all about? aren't all french citizens under the same law? >> well, like bill, there is some tension because france has taken on, france take as very strong secular stance among countries in europe and it is the only country as far as i know that has banned the in lots of public places the full face veil. there is a long history of tension from the colonial era between the french and muslim communities northern african communities, particularly when you think about the algerian experience and some of these neighborhoods which have been difficult for police are impoverished. what happens is a lot of these youths who become so violent start out being petty drug dealers or just violent thugs. and whether in prison or in the mosque, they come under the sway of some of these radical preachers.

panhandle. all right, so say you are elected, governor, to the presidency, do you have a plan to defeat the jihad? the first thing you have to know is who your enemy is if you don't recognize the nature of the enemy is religious, it's going to be hard to defeat him. the very word jihad means that this is a religiously motivated war. so, one of the things we have to do is identify hot real enemy is cut off their funding, make it clear to countries like saudi arabia and others who continue to fund these guys that if they give them money, they are done with the united states. >> all right. >> then put on the spotlight some real heroes. this week we saw two remarkable people. president in egypt and the crown prince of bahrain calling on the moderate muslims to step up and stop this nonsense. that's the kind of leadership that we need. >> let me ask you a series of questions obviously the nation of pakistan has enabled the jihad.
8:49 pm
and everybody knows it. it's a doctor who helped us get bin laden in prison. they imprison him and harbor bin laden. i say cut off every penny and impose an economic embargo like we had had against cuba. would you do that? >> i would certainly consider it. i would want to look and see with foreign policy experts. but, bill, i think my first inclination is to say absolutely. i would go further. i would cut off support to the united nations, which has become an absolute joke. they take u.s. money. >> not going to do anything directly but pakistan. > if you told the pakistanis trade embargo against you, no more money coming from us. and we're going to encourage the rest of the world not to trade with you, their economy collapses, yes, they have nuclear weapons, yes the jihadists will be there. but, it will force them force them to stop what is a, you know, tens of thousands of americans have been killed because of pakistan's helping the
8:50 pm
jihadist. iran. now, everybody knows they are nationals of terrorists around the world. we continue to negotiate with them in over the world. we continue to negotiate with them in bad faith. nobody believes iran is going to do anything. what would you do there? >> i think we've made a big mistake by trying to make nice with them. we were doing much better when we were putting economic pressure on them and it was having a dramatic effect upon them. now we're easing up those sanctions, they're accelerating their nuclear program and they continue to pose a threat both to israel and the rest of the world and continue to fund groups like hamas and hezbollah. it doesn't make sense when you help feed the people whose strength from which you feed them are going to be used to sock you in the face. >> so barack obama and to be fair the republican congress as well, i mean, the bush administration didn't take action against pakistan. they certainly knew pakistan was hurting american soldiers in
8:51 pm
afghanistan but didn't do anything. everybody's afraid. they're afraid to confront the jihad. the jihadists know it. they think we're weak. they're plotting even at this moment while we're speaking to kill us. if they can kill us, they'll kill us. china helps them russia helps them. we can't do anything against them. turkey turkey, we even let us go in there and fight isis and we don't do anything to them. so what i'm trying to get across to you if you're president of the united states whoever it is it's got to change or we're going to have another 9/11 it's going to be ten times worse than it was. i believe that firmly. last word on the subject. >> no, i totally agree. and, look we both know from being kids growing up in a schoolyard that if there's a bully the only way the bully stops being a bully is when somebody pumplgs his lights out and he's no longer a bully. and the united states is going to have to quit pretending that you can tame a bully. you're going to have to bust the bully and end him. >> okay. >> and we've got to start from
8:52 pm
the top of these jihadist organizations, work our way down and quit acting like we're weak. >> we're not acting like we're weak, we are weak. >> we don't have to be. >> we don't have the political will to defeat this enemy. they didn't have the will to defeat japanese or germans exactly. last night laura ingraham and i discussed you and asked the question can a religious man as you are become president of the united states, can you get elected because of the secular society that we have now. what do you say? >> well, it's interesting to me that that question keeps coming up about me because, bill, you were the one who wrote the book on jesus not me. >> but you're a baptist minister. >> well, i was but that was 25 years ago. what were you doing 25 years ago, bill? >> i was in prison, i think. >> come on. >> some of your policy positions are shaped by your belief that
8:53 pm
evil has to be confronted and the good has to be promoted, right? >> i think that's an american position. i think that's consistent with the -- built education, reformed health care. i didn't replace the capitol dome with the steeple and trade in the legislative sessions for prayer meetings. i effectively governed. now, am i believer? yeah, am i ashamed of that? absolutely not. but i never have suggested that the purpose for which i've ever run or would run for office is so i can impose some type of religious dogma on anybody. i don't think i should be disqualified for running from office because i happen to be unapologetic believer. >> i'm just wondering whether the masses of people will take that into account when they valuate your candidacy. it's an unanswerable question right now. >> well, but here's the
8:54 pm
interesting question. we don't want to call islamic jihadism what it is because we don't want to offend somebody because we might hurt their feelings over their religion. and yet the national press, not so much you, but the national press all they want to do is to say i don't think mike huckabee could be president because he's religious. >> that's right. >> now, do you not see the irony in that? >> i am mr. irony, governor. thanks for being on.
