wrenching and it's worth your time. great to see you both tonight. thank you very much. it's been a commercial free kelly file and there's a really interesting fact story about that but the show is over so i have to go. bye. welcome to hannity and tonight we have brand new fox news national poll numbers that shed light on the general election matchup between hillary clinton and donald trump and early today president obama endorsed hillary for president but it probably wasn't make a difference. we're at the hannity big board with more on the polls. >> it's a close race between hillary clinton and donald trump with a brand new national head-to-head poll that shows clinton with a slight lead over donald trump 42% to 39%. it's important to note that lead

is within the margin of error but other polls may spell bad news for hillary clinton. in terms of favorability the latest polls show 56% of registered voters view her unfavorably. that's compared to 42% who have a favorable view. the poll asks about clinton's private e-mail scandal. 56% of voters say clinton is lying about how she handled the e-mail situation while she served as secretary of state, that's compared to 27% who said she's telling the truth and when it comes to putting our national security at risk 57% say yes, she did put the country at risk to 32% say no she did not. these are interesting numbers. they could have a major impact on the general election in november but we'll be keeping an eye on these for you. >> can you imagine 60% thought i was a liar. that cannot be good. >> that's not a good thing. >> joining us now with reaction

is fox news contributor. laura good to see you. there's a lot to come because we learn that the cia may have been compromised and she deleted 30,000 e-mails and 65% of people think she's a liar and there was top secret information compromised and a special access program which is above top secret classification found on those e-mails in the mom and pop shop in a bathroom closet. how much does it impact the election? >> i think when you look at the numbers and these polls and especially this fox poll there are interesting questions about trust worthiness but also when you look at the people who are really following the election, those are the majority trump people. so he's lost a little ground for sure among independents and about three points shaved off of republicans but in that same time hillary hasn't grown at

all. she hasn't had any increase in her popularity. i think trump has been hammered by this judge saying there are a lot of republicans out there working for the hillary campaign now even though they claim to be republicans so that's taken some toll but on the question of favorability, honesty, hillary clinton is a known commodity and people don't like her. when trump gives this speech next week they're going to learn more about how he's going to handle her in this general election and i think that's going to be fascinating to watch. >> the more important polls it's going to be the electoral votes that matter and i know it's not a big lead but trump has a lead in florida. it's dead even in pennsylvania. other states that normally would be blowout states democrats beating republicans seem to be in play like connecticut and new jersey, michigan. >> massachusetts. >> exactly. so i think it's too early to tell. i don't think anyone can make a prediction with any certainty

lawmakers on capitol hill are in a stalemate over zika funding. they haven't been able to agree how much money is needed to fight the virus. the president has previously requested $2 billion but both chambers have passed bills for much less. now the cdc director is making another plea for help. he said epidemics can spread in days and the faster congress acts the better. zika has been linked to birth defects in newborns. a statement approved by council members expressed sim thi to families that lost loved ones. here you can see the attack unfold at a market. two men dressed in suites storm a restaurant and open fire. diners jump to their feet trying to escape the chaos. authorities say both attackers have been taken into custody. opening statements today for a third baltimore officer

standing trial in the death of freddie gray. goodson was driving the police van when gray suffered a spinal injury in april of 2015. he died a week later. a judge today denied a request from defense attorneys to drop the charges. the first two trials against other officers in this case ended without convictions. 14,000 people paying their respects to muhammad ali during a muslim prayer service in kentucky. afr ali who died friday became a muslim. a memorial service is planned for tomorrow which will include several religions including jews and christians. now back to hannity.
