12:00 am
and groupthink. we hope you have an absolutely terrific weekend. good evening from washington. "hannity" is next with the great judge jeanine puro hosting. have a great weekend. >> jeannine: welcome to this especially edition of "hannity." i am judge jeanine pirro in tonight for sean. major developments in several democrat scandals, including the controversial uranium one deal. tonight, making news about the trump dossier, in just a minute, reporting that the conservative web site, the washington free beacon funded the fusion gps research into donald trump. it was also looking into the
12:01 am
republican presidential candidates. the washington free beacon is responding to this explosive information adding "the free beacon had no knowledge of or connection to the steel dossier. did not pay for the dossier, and never had contact with, knowledge of, or provide payments for any work performed by christopher steele. nor did we have any knowledge of the relationship between fusion gps and the democratic national committee. "joining us now, "washington examiner" byron york. good evening, byron. you've got everyone talking about what this fusion gps situation is. you've got the whole thing turned on a tip. now the original funding for
12:02 am
fusion gps -- we thought it began with the clinton campaign and the dnc. we thought it was funded by the washington free beacon, which is a conservative publication. tell us what you know. >> it is, indeed. this week we found out the whole russia part of the trump dossier, alleging collusion with russians was funded by the hillary clinton campaign in the democratic national committee. we had always known that earlier than that, several months earlier starting in late 2015, a republican group had funded opposition research. into donald trump and some other candidates. now tonight i reported who it was. it was the washington free beacon. a conservative web site with attitude. at the web site that mixes
12:03 am
journalism and activism and some of it -- some of its top staffers -- they are the ones behind the original effort. >> jeanine: people are now saying who is the washington free beacon? who owns the free beacon? i understand at one point it was actually a nonprofit? >> it was. it started in 2012 as a 50134. one of its board members was bill kristol. the former editor of the weekly standard. very prominent never trump voice in our debate today. and then it becomes a private organization. we do know that a new york hedge fund billionaire who has contributed to many conservative causes is a major funder of the "washington free beacon" today. >> jeanine: paul singer was
12:04 am
someone that was antitrust as well? >> very much so. certainly in the never trump camp. later endorsed marco rubio. and actually wanted to somehow stop trump at the convention. there is a last ditch effort. mr. singer was very anti-trump at the time. >> jeanine: do we know who else -- did they seek this opposition research on? i understand it was not just donald trump. >> that's a good question in the answer is i do not know. they did say tonight when the free beacon acknowledged my report -- they published an acknowledgment. they said in the fall of 2015, donald trump was the leading candidate if you remember back then. in the fall of 2015, they started this opposition research project with fusion gps, looking
12:05 am
at the multiple republican candidates including donald trump. unclear who those other ones are. >> jeanine: going forward, the washington free beacon has said we basically did not do any of this stuff based upon a request by individuals. are they saying who the individuals are? >> look, a lot of people -- there had been gossip that this was a pulsing or operation. people have said he was the one behind all of this. but the free beacon is saying is that singer is a major funder but the free beacon has in the past used, employed, retained opposition research. if it was something like that, i've got to say this is not standard journalistic practice. you go to places like the "washington examiner" or "the washington post" or any
12:06 am
other organization and they do not go around hiring political opposition research firms. this is an unusual situation. >> jeanine: clearly if there is investigative reporters, they wouldn't subcontract someone. byron, stay with us. i also want to ask -- fox news contributor charlie hurt and matthew slap. i will go to you first, matt. what is your take on the information that byron had just released this evening? >> there's been a lot of smoke around this for a long time. i give byron great credit. it just seems like there is almost an access of political evil here. people willing to do almost everything to stop donald trump. bill kristol, we've all debated throughout the last two years. he was a prominent never trumper. paul singer, how did it move
12:07 am
from this republican back over now to the dnc and to the democrats? there's a lot more here that we need to know. >> jeanine: do we know anything about that? the original investigation from the fall of 2015 to the spring of 2016 and then it ended in terms of the funding by republicans or the anti-trump people. and it's picked up by the dnc and clinton campaign. who contacted who? you know? >> we do know something about this. what we've been talking about, it starts in the fall of 2015. it's a conventional oppo research. it's a conventional oppo research. it goes on until early may. on may 3rd, trump won the
12:08 am
indiana primary. and essentially clinched the nomination. this effort stopped at that point. what we do know is after that, the head of fusion gps shot the project to democrats. the democratic national committee and hillary clinton campaign picked it up and at some point after that, that's when they hired christopher steele, and this former british spy. that's when it turned towards russia. >> jeanine: charlie, i will go to you. we just heard or we know that debbie wasserman schultz, john podesta, going before congress with mark elias. the attorney, through which the money was funneled before he got to christopher steele. the question is, are those two individuals at risk of having lied to congress because they said they do knew nothing abou.
12:09 am
>> the incestuous nature of the way business was handled in washington, i will be honest, doing the oppo research, everyone does that. i'm not terribly concerned about all of that. what does concern me is that we've had these past few months were democrats in particular -- democrats in particular, the clintons have made such a big deal about these russian connections. they've been lying all this time about their own fingerprints all over this completely fraudulent dossier which then led to the obama administration launching an unprecedented investigation using the most powerful intelligence service on the planet. the demand for the political opponent. >> jeanine: matt, i see you nodding your head. >> i'm disgusted by the fact
12:10 am
that donald trump, jr., gets an email about meeting with people who have information and he is called a traitor. hillary clinton and her team went to russia to shake down the trees of vladimir putin's cronies to get information and then gets away with calling opposition research. i cannot stand. >> jeanine: byron, this whole thing is based upon -- this mueller investigation, as well as the unmasking that came as a result of fish warrants. based on this dossier which was purchased by hillary clinton and her friends who say they know nothing about it. it supposedly cost millions of dollars. my faith in the american justice system, i'm destroyed by this. because right now, its fruit of the poisonous tree. if that is false, everything
12:11 am
else comes down and mueller has got to end it. >> let me add one thing in addition to the mueller factor. the reason we are talking about this now, the reason we learned earlier this week that it was the dnc and clinton campaign and the reason we learned today that it was washington free beacon is because house intelligence committee and the much-maligned person, devin nunes, had issued a subpoena for fusion gps bank records. they had been stonewalled by fusion gps before that. people had come from fusion and asserted their fifth amendment right and refused to answer questions. they subpoenaed bank records. that's what has shaken the sluice. in response and anticipation of their bank records being handed over to the house. all of a sudden well, we find out hillary clinton in the dnc had funded and then we find out about fusion gps. a lot of this is being driven by the house intelligence
12:12 am
committee. >> jeanine: you know what, charlie, to them we certainly owe -- they get kudos. on monday, fusion is supposed to be respond to the subpoena. handing over the names of clients. what to think fusion is going to do? >> absolutely. we owe them a total -- gratitude here. democrats aren't circling the wagons around the clintons. when they cosmos like this, the whole party circles around them. now i have the dnc standing back saying hey, man, we didn't know anything about this. talk to them. you even have former seeing cia director -- and where's hillary? she's been hiding out. she's been so talkative and now she has gotten quiet. >> jeanine: what's interesting is once the law firm, perkins
12:13 am
coie, once they waive the privilege, i think it will all start crumbling. byron, thanks to you. what can we look forward to next week? >> this is big. the house intel committee has also subpoenaed the fbi for all of its information into the dossier. you have to remember, christopher steele went to the fbi and they kind of took him under their wing and started using this dossier material in some way. devin nunes subpoenaed them. he was totally stonewalled. they have not turned over anything. now speaker paul ryan in the last couple of days said this is not one committee chairman. this is the house of representatives telling the fbi you have to comply with this request. the fbi promises to respond next week and that could be really, really big news. to see what they did with this dossier information. >> jeanine: and what they did
12:14 am
with that and how much jim coming knew about what was going on. gentlemen, thank you so much. coming up, former high-ranking obama administration official is agreeing that there needs to be an investigation into who paid for the anti-trump dossier. we will tell you who on this special edition alright, off you go. casual fridays at buckingham palace? surprising. what's not surprising? how much money nathan saved by switching to geico. fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more.
12:15 am
12:16 am
12:17 am
running a small business is demanding. and that's why small business owners need more. like internet that's up to the challenge. the gig-speed network from comcast business gives you more. with speeds up to 20 times faster than the average. that means powering more devices, more video conferencing, and more downloads in seconds, not minutes. get fast internet and add phone and tv for only $34.90 more per month. comcast is building america's largest gig-speed
12:18 am
network to give small businesses more. call 1-800-501-6000 today. >> jeanine: welcome back to the specially edition of "hannity." more and more people are demanding answers about this anti-trump dossier, including president obama's former cia director, leon panetta. take a look. >> how can both the chair, dnc, and clinton campaign not know about these payments? >> is obviously something the intelligence committee is going to have to look at. knowing presidential campaigns, they are big operations and somehow, that could be the case here. i do think they committee will
12:19 am
have to get into this to determine what happened, who knew what and when. >> jeanine: joining us now with reaction is larry elder and fox news contributor tammy bruce. all right, tammy, we have leon panetta. everyone's giving him credit because he said obviously we have to look at it. but then he took the slant -- these are big operations. the left-hand may not know what the right hand is doing. what is your take? >> that's what they are always thinking. that's the dynamic. plausible deniability. we know the democrats have been very sloppy. if you think about the pakistanis running the dnc, the server stuff with hillary, these individuals have gotten away with so much for so long. they are immune. but they are not. we are finding this. i'm not was smart enough to know when something is so much of a
12:20 am
mess, you've got to at least start the fire. this could be so bad that an investigation might -- coat >> jeanine: all right, larry, i will go to you. leon panetta, i remember leon panetta from benghazi. in 2013, he said something like he was drinking that clinton kool-aid. we did not have an intelligence warning. we didn't have enough time to get military assets to respond to benghazi. when we were in northern africa, that's where i stopped with panetta. what's your take on panetta now? >> he's usually pretty reasonable, judge. he's one of the money and obama's security teams that wanted him to leave isis and isis could have been dealt with. it's fascinating how nobody seemed to know who paid.
12:21 am
debbie wasserman schultz had no knowledge of this. john podesta, hillary spokesperson had no knowledge. i wonder -- she played this shenanigans and got hillary the debate customs. i wonder what her role is and has anyone asked hilary about this? >> jeanine: isn't it interesting that we have not heard from hillary in the past few days? >> she's on her book tour, judge. how about somebody hasn't called and asked her about it? >> jeanine: she must be in the woods with that dog again. even leon panetta is saying maybe we ought to look at this. does this now take away some of the steam? should we recognize that for all the talk in the last year about collusion and trump and russia, not one iota of evidence but now, it's almost like the noose is getting tighter and evidence
12:22 am
is becoming pretty obvious. >> the thing mr. panetta called awkward was when podesta said mark elias sitting next to him facilitating all of this, when he no idea, and the man who was managing at, personal attorney was the manager. this is where you realize that this is out-of-the-box. the genie is out of the bottle and it got to be able to do it and they have to be investigating and this is where the real panic sets in. they realized how sloppy they've been. all the doors that were closed. it's because they expected her to win. >> jeanine: that's the thing. great point. larry, 18-usc, making a false statement to congress. we've got debbie wasserman schultz and podesta with mark elias, the attorney who even
12:23 am
"new york times" it said you lied to us for a year and we are fed up with you. they are in big trouble right now. it seems to me -- they have been calls for muller's for the last week. some serious calls in light of this uranium deal. what does mueller deal? does he start pressing for indictments so it looks like he's doing his job? >> i think he ought to resign. i agree with "the wall street journal." he should step aside and let someone else do it. regarding mark elias, you are right. there are at least two "new york times" reporters that said you flat out lied to us. even some suggesting fusion gps may have paid journalists to plant stories. this is just now beginning and it looks like the whole thing -- the real collude or appeared to be hillary, dnc, and even the fbi. >> jeanine: i will go to that in a second but let me add something to that.
12:24 am
elias was also the attorney for the dnc, or one of the attorneys. i take that back. he's the attorney for park and coie. here's the thing. if you know if they were lying, it's pretty clear they were, he is also guilty of subornation of perjury. for stay there and allowing them to lie to congress. in terms of what larry just said, what is your take on that? >> i think mueller is an interesting spot. a big collar for his resignation. because of his length of time with the fbi and with the fbi, possibly being part of the collision as larry noted. that would make him that she is not able to be fair. judging them and investigating none. because of the relationship.
12:25 am
not just a comey but his own work. that's a dynamic with what we know. what troubles me is mr. mueller knows himself his whole history and yet he felt he was fine to take this job. just like what they said about comey. he should have dim yard saying i have too much involved here. i'm not the right person. or i'm a little too busy for this. >> jeanine: and the fact that mueller has always said or has been involved in everything from being in the fbi to the investigation of the russians who were carrying on this criminal racketeering enterprise, trying to bribe people in the united states and the witness now being allowed to talk hopefully in the very near future by jeff sessions, comey is too much involved. that's who should be
12:26 am
investigated. what do you say, larry? about mueller and comey. >> this long friendship with james comey. this whole thing absolutely stinks. this is an outrage. and to vindicate his donald trump. it shows you he was right when he said he was being wiretapped. some of his aides are being wiretapped at trump tower. the question is did mueller know that this dossier was phony but used as a ruse in order to go after donald trump? used it to get a warrant to tap donald trump even though the people knew that it was full of crap? these are the kinds of questions that need to be answered and it vindicates donald trump. you have to have an iq two points under plant life to believe there was some kind of trump collusion going on right now. [laughter] >> jeanine: the only person who has not been involved in this message mess is jeff sess.
12:27 am
he recused himself. he's the one guy who has not been a part of it. coming up, gotta go. just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for hillary clinton, there are new developments in another one of her scandals. we will tell you why this particular scandal isn't going away anytime soon. that and more as this special edition of "hannity" continues.
12:28 am
12:29 am
12:30 am
12:31 am
12:32 am
>> jeanine: welcome back to the special edition of "hannity." more bad news for hillary clinton this week involving another one of her scandals. the chairman of the house judiciary and oversight committee have announced that they are opening a new probe into how the fbi and doj handled the investigation into clinton's private server. also this week, judicial watch, last year, the fbi recovered the 70,000 pages. 40,000 of which the state department still has to process. joining us now is the president of judicial watch, jordan sekulow. all right, let me ask you. what is the latest information
12:33 am
you've gotten from your subpoenas? >> we've been asking for these emails for years. they've been stonewalling this information. the deep state is running things with these clinton emails. as you highlighted, there 17th 2,000 -- 72,000 emails. we've only released a few of them. at the rate they are releasing, we won't get all of them until 2020. on top of that, they're 2800 pages of records or documents on anthony weiner's laptop. that are also from the clinton email server. is it russia information? what was being deleted by hillary clinton is a big mystery. >> jeanine: my take is if we
12:34 am
got 72,000 emails and the state department asked for them at the time of benghazi how many years ago? in 2012, it's taken them this long? i have an idea. let's defund mueller and his special counsel and use that money to get people to start releasing those state department emails. jordan, what say you about this? >> i'm encouraged that congress is looking at this. with a new lens. a couple of different ways. one when it comes to the newly investigations with how the fbi handled this investigation -- they never wanted to call it that. a "matter," i guess. why they were giving updates about hillary clinton and ultimately made the call not to prosecute inside the department of justice would take no course of action and also trey gowdy,
12:35 am
the oversight committee wants to bring james comey back to testify. i think this is something we are working on -- the fbi we know was part of -- and the deal with christopher steele to continue the opposition research that hillary clinton's campaign was paid for through fusion gps. we want to know how far along the fbi went. to get that information, that's absurd. as you had said earlier in the broadcast, it takes everything. for the masking. the starting point for the special counsel. for all of this trump-russia info. it's really a hillary clinton russian scandal. >> jeanine: clearly. clearly. people abuse this term all week. money has gone from the fbi to
12:36 am
christopher steele. how do they justify that and is that the correct amount? >> we don't know and we asked for the documents too. the justice department and fbi have told us they cannot confirm or deny whether any documents exist about the dossier or payments related to it. this is where we stand. everyone's talking about the fbi's relationship with christopher steele that the fbi doesn't want to say anything about it. now they are going to turn over some documents to congress. we wonder if they will update the court on if they still believe they can credibly say they cannot confirm or deny whether documents exist. >> it's helping hillary clinton, barack obama and hurting president trump. >> jeanine: clearly. >> is also hurting the credibility -- that's what's so damaging. people's top law enforcement agency, like the fbi, it's totally undercut when they behave this way.
12:37 am
>> jeanine: that's between comey and mueller. they have done more to destroy the country's confidence in the fbi and as someone who worked in law enforcement for over three decades, what they have done is stunning. if this trump dossier is the basis of the unmasking of americans and was used knowingly -- by the clinton campaign and jim kobe is the guy that goes out when it's not his job and makes a decision he's going to exonerate hillary? the whole criminal justice system falls on its head. >> the clinton campaign and dnc had their problems with the dossier but to the extent that the fbi and justice department used this as a pretext to spy on president trump's team or president trump himself, this is more of a significant government scandal than anything hillary clinton did. >> jeanine: clearly. jordan, final question. what can we look forward to in the next few weeks?
12:38 am
>> i think the confidence is going to change everything. that's why you will start seeing both sides tried to speed up their activity. we have people on the run right now, so to speak. now they know they will be able to provide information on the influence russians were trying to assert on both hillary and bill clinton. specific to the uranium deals. and ultimately, they were approved by president obama. >> jeanine: tom fitton and jordan sekulow. coming up. the media once again is doing everything it can to defend hillary clinton and the democrats against these scandals. we will play some of the most biased moments next as the specially edition of "hannity"
12:39 am
12:40 am
12:41 am
12:42 am
>> jeanine: welcome back to "hannity." the clintons, and other prominent democrats embroiled in their own russian scandals. the left's most faithful ally, the mainstream media is providing plenty of cover for their comrades. for example, take a look at some of these egregious attempts to defend, deflect, and even blamed fox news for the current rush of
12:43 am
troubles for the left. >> the trump administration trying to divert attention away from the meal or investigation by pinning the russia problem on hillary and bill clinton. >> this whole uranium thing comes from fox news. >> this is a story that has been pushed, post, pushed in recent weeks even though it was settled in 2015. it's an old story. >> it's been pushed by fox and been embraced by the white house. >> it's been debunked for years. >> if you turn on fox or breitbart, you would think loretta lynch and eric holder were the ones that hacked the election. it's absolutely absurd. >> the trump dossier is back in the news. let's clear up fact from fiction. we do the dossier was funded by trump opponents in both parties. the big question is whether it
12:44 am
was true. >> one does opposition research -- the candidate rarely knows. the campaign manager usually would. >> jeanine: [laughs] joining us now, turning point usa founder charlie kirk and fox news contributor doug schoen. doug, i'm going to you right away. someone who worked with those clinton's, let's talk about how they spend their money. >> the idea that the clinton's or any other candidate would spend $12 million and the candidate would not know what was being done and what was the result -- i was in the '96 campaign with leon panetta. he would have known about big expenditures. the president would have known. every reason to believe hillary clinton would have known about this. >> jeanine: charlie, i will go to you. given that it's clear that this
12:45 am
money went from the clinton foundation -- the clinton campaign in the dnc, doesn't it seem that it's time for rod rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, who came in and said to jeff sessions "get out of the way, jeff" let's appoint bob mueller. isn't it time for him to say bob mueller, get out of the way. you are in the middle of this whole thing and then appoint a special counsel to investigate the clinton's? >> yeah, i agree with "the wall street journal." he should step down and resign. i agree there should be a special prosecutor into this uranium one deal. you look at what the clinton's did. they lost the presidential election. the primary. they said how can we make a bunch of money? let's sell out something very valuable to america. how about our uranium. let's sell it out to some russian billionaires and make a budget cash for our charitable
12:46 am
foundation. quid pro quo. you hear the sound clips. this is put forth by fox news. no, it was "the new york times" that reported on this ten days ago. they said there's uranium being taken out of the state of wyoming and being illegally exported to canada and this was signed because of hillary clinton selling out america as secretary of state, quid pro quo. >> jeanine: in addition to the other people on cfius. but the committees that approved this sale does not make her pay for play any less illegal. let me ask you this -- you have worked with the media for many years. he worked in presidential campaigns. okay, how does jeffrey -- that guy is a lawyer. where does he get off saying this thing was settled in 2015? who settled this whole thing with the uranium one deal in 2015? >> jeff is a friend of mine but
12:47 am
he's wrong in this case. this calls for a special prosecutor. someone separate and distinct from popular with no ties to the fbi. one of the big questions that we have to figure out, what happened with the fbi? what was their role and there are so many questions, money funneled through canada, the speech in moscow by president clinton. what hillary clinton knew, what she did not know. she said she did not know anything. let's do an investigation. i was all for the russian investigation. i'm a democrat but i'm also for doing an investigation on the uranium deal. >> jeanine: after 11 months of nothing, they announced we don't have anything but we are still looking. trying time to shut it down.
12:48 am
>> i don't think that. we are still looking at general flynn and paul manafort and my reaction is, let's see what happens with those two individuals and see where it leads. >> jeanine: you know what? charlie kirk, doj, they can handle paul manafort and clinton. they did not need to be a special prosecutor. i question rod rosenstein's motives. >> he was the guy that advised jeff sessions to recuse himself. if you look at bigger picture and with the media is trying to -- what's so disturbing is donald trump, jr., taking one meeting a year and a half ago that resulted in nothing, came on the front page of "time" magazine with the word "traitor" for nearly a month straight. he had to testify many times in front of cemeteries in a closed session and now you have all these new developments that hillary clinton sold out something of value for $110 million. nothing about that.
12:49 am
you knew nothing about that? you look at the horrible discrepancy. don, jr., took one meeting in that's all they could talk about. they were saying oh, it's treason. the double standard is horrendous. >> jeanine: do you see the double standard? >> what i see are issues that need to be investigated. when general flynn goes to russia and sits with vladimir -- >> i'm saying there issues on both sides. >> jeanine: we are talking about the trumps. they would take donald trump, jr., who took a meeting. i would take a meeting with anyone -- i take the meeting with the devil to back [laughs] now i forgot the question. >> the issue is not what donald trump, jr., did in my mind.
12:50 am
it's what did the russian lawyer in the room who is with the kremlin -- did i get the name wrong? donald trump, jr., i don't believe. >> jeanine: they are blaming. charlie, last word. >> it resulted in nothing, unlike the hillary clinton scandal. $110 million came out of it. >> jeanine: i think it was $145 million. ten seconds. thanks, guys. coming up, more on the special edition of "hannity." right after the break. [laughs]
12:51 am
12:52 am
12:53 am
12:54 am
12:55 am
>> jeanine: will come back to the special edition of "hannity." tonight we want to hear from you. what to think about the anti-trump dossier scandal? head over to my twitter, @judgejeanine. before we go to date, the movie that sean produced, "let there be light" is out today. sean spoke with kevin and sam sorbo along with their son. >> we hope you go see it. yes, we are taking over hollywood. at least we are going to try. kevin, sam sorbo.
12:56 am
you're going to be a rock star by the end of the week. i hope you know that. you are so mean to your father and the movie. >> what's up with that anyway? >> i did a good job. >> a lot of confidence but you did to a good job. about a year and a half. nearly two years ago. "god's not dead." >> "soul surfer." you called me up and said i want to do a movie with you. >> what was i thinking? >> we came here and we pitched to you and we talked for 25 minutes. sean did not interrupt one time! >> shocking, i know. i do not have that reputation. here's what i've been saying all the interviews. i've been saying hollywood is formulaic. you get violence, sex, spider-man 90, jennifer aniston falls in love with whoever the new hollywood person is. they have a baby and a dog and the movie ends. that's pretty much it. and there's been contempt for conservative christian faith values in hollywood.
12:57 am
this is an antidote and we went independent. totally different. >> this is the story -- going back to what hollywood used to be before the '50s. these new movies come , these characters people can identify with. >> jeanine: >> you are the means proud of it. >> i was acting. >> you were a drunk, a womanizer. a drug addict. and you helped transform his life. he had the patience dealing with him. >> you write a story that you hope is compelling. you want people to be interested and you have to have characters that brush against extremes. >> you want to see art. >> you have to juxtapose it with what he was before to what he becomes.
12:58 am
people identify with each of the characters in the movie and that's what's great about it. that's why it touches people. >> every single person i've shown this movie to has cried. your son makes them cry. no, you don't. >> the comic relief. how was i as a director? >> director or dictator? >> oh! >> a burn on "hannity." >> this is my first movie. >> you and your brother did fantastic. you are protecting your mom again him. is that how it is like in real life? >> it's the other way around. >> for a lot of kids his age in a single-parent family, it comes with that. that's why this film touches people. there's a real reality in it. >> women love it but men love it
