snagging a $100,000 prize after playing the mega crossword instant scratch game. after taxes, the 20-year-old des moines man pocketed $70,000. >> he said that a coworker bought the ticket and gave it to him. ryan: his fortune didn't last long. five days later, a tip to lottery officials. >> it wasn't legally purchased and it wasn't legally presented. ryan: he bought the ticket himself at this superquick foods. underage gambling violation according to iowa law. >> lottery security investigated it. we determined that in fact he was the one who purchased the ticket which make the whole prize invalid. ryan: he told investigators a

tipton is the former multi-state lottery association security director. he's accused of rigging jackpots in iowa, colorado, wisconsin, kansas, and oklahoma. a warning about a new scam in ames. it uses an old ames car dealership to dupe people out of tens of thousands of dollars. the website says it's benson motor in ames. it's at bm-center.com. it looks legitimate and has pictures of real people. but, benson motor closed in 2009. chris, who didn't want us to identify his last name, almost wired $72,000, thinking he was getting a deal on a couple of cars. he checked in with ames police just in the nick of time. >> you've got to be so careful, i mean if you're not able to vet it with your own eyes. with technology these days we , could have wired 72 grand that could have instantly been gone. steve: ames police tell kcci they got a call from an agency

that's how much money hillary clinton wants to treat and discover a cure for alzheimer's disease, parkinsons, and dementia. she campaigned in fairfield and keota in southeastern iowa today with u.s. secretary of agriculture tom vilsack. clinton's plan would fund research, expand medicare to cover care-planning, and push congress to reauthorize grants for local initiatives to protect patients who wander from their homes. 5 million americans have been diagnosed with alzheimer's and that number is expected to triple in the next 3 decades. >> this disease, the amount of deaths are going up. the other major diseases, their cause of death are actually decreasing. we need to see that happen with alzheimer's as well. this is a horrible disease with, at this no end in sight.
