america were on the job going through rehearsals. but it's all fun and game for these san jose residents. their employers sent them to southern california for an oscar watch party. >> we actually get massage and getting our hair and make up done and then we are going to the viewing party. >> sounds hike fun, and i had to ask. >> who are you wearing? >> nordstrom rack. >> final decorations are being done and flowers arranged inside the theater. although we had to look through glass doors to see what was happening inside, in hollywood it's all about who you know. elizabeth and all the people are related or friends with an executive with the academy. and today they get to see the stage before everyone else. >> it's a rehearsal. you know, you are not expecting to see it exactly the way it's going to be, but you get to see all of the people come together. >> the bleachers are set up for the fans but hollywooded boulevard is blocked off to the public. unless you are seated here, the best view of the red carpet is

who shot and killed a man on interstate 80 in richmond early yesterday morning. the shooting happened near hilltop drive. the 60-year-old man in this. >> he died. his s.u.v. crashed in a ravine after he was shot. another car drove up alongside of him and opened fire. they say this was not a random shooting. the victim was targeted. there had been seven freeway shootings on the east bay since november and that has people on edge. >> seems to be an epidemic right now people think they can pack their guns in their cars and drivefy whenever they are unhappy with somebody. >> we are taking to the street. >> receipt now police have few leads. no suspects or a good description of the suspect's car. now to a high surf rescue caught on video. a bystander took this foot age of a family who got swept out into the ocean at goat rock beach friday afternoon. a lifeguard tried to save the
woman and three children but the sheriff's office sent a helicopter to pluck them out of the water one by one. the family is out of the hospital and doing fine. today is the last day of the california democratic convention in san jose. vice president joe biden fired up the room delivering the keynote address last night. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana was there and has details. >> to a convention full of impassioned democrats, vice president spoke about failed policies. all you have to do is go back to george bush in 2000, 2004. romney 2012. it's the same tired prescription. they haven't changed at all, folks! they have just gotten minor. >> and in a salute to the state's powerful delegation, biden made a special mention about senator barbara boxer. >> barbara, the senate is going to miss you >> the country is going to miss
you, i'm going to miss you and california is going to miss you. >> she will not be seeking re-election, and based on the rowdy support for the two leading candidates seeking her open seat, this is the statewide race to watch. she said she's the most experienced legislator. >> if you were going to have open heart surgery, would you get a doctor who has never performed that or would you get somebody who has done it several times in i've been doing it for 20 years. >> camilla harris encouraged everyone to get ex-seated about the race. >> if they are shouting and energizing and they feel it passionately, eats good for all of us >> the state democratic convention was vice president's final stop this weekend. they met with researchers at ucsf earlier today as part of his initiative to find a cure for cancer.
now to the race in south carolina. hillary clinton easily won the primary. most of the 53 delegates went to clinton. exit policy show african americans made up 62% of democratic primary voters yesterday and clinton received 84% of their votes. >> we have to invest in communities of color, reform our growth in criminal justice and immigration systems. we have to guarantee opportunity, dignity and justice for every american. >> all of the candidates now getting ready for super tuesday with republican or democratic primaries and caucuses in twelve states. republican candidates are on the offensive. >> in florida we have a sitting senator, and i'm up by a tremendous amount, every poll, because they can't stand the goo i. >> we cannot lose this election -- nomination to someone that the democrats will rip apart. >> we have extensive coverage of the 2016 presidential election on our website.

and it will warm us up another t the numbers now, warmer conditions on the coast in san francisco, 52 degrees. it's 48 for you in oakland and mountain view. 49 san jose, morgue helisitting at 47 degrees. and a live look outside from our roof camera. looking pretty good with the sun coming up at 6:45. 42 in santa rosa. it's 43 in napa with 44 by the delta. upper 40s for you in concord. novato sitting at 46 degrees. so a little change from yesterday to today. we will be in and out of the clouds. we call it partly to mostly cloudy. and with the mechanics of clouds and sun, it should be very mild once again with numbers above our averages by about 5 degrees or so. but then tomorrow gets even warmer. so that's going to be the forecast for most of the week with the ridge beginning to break down, looks like by wednesday. so as we go through the morning hours, you will notice cloud cover here, some sunshine on and
off. so overall we call it mostly cloudy. week ahead looking very, very mild for you. san jose average he's should be 64. today above that at 69. but look what happens tomorrow. 77 degrees. so that's full sunshine and 73 follows on tuesday with mid-70s on wednesday. this should be the coolest day of the week. and that's really our only opportunity for rain this week, on thursday. then by friday and saturday temperatures will rebound. >> this all could change between now and thursday. but the chance of rain looks very slight. we are going to keep it in the forecast. and hopefully wondering and hoping that perhaps it verifies. but this week overall looking very mild in southern california. 77 degrees today for the oscars at 2:00 and staying in the mid-70s by 4:00. partly to mostly cloudy today.

san francisco zoo shared this video from international bowl lar bear day. it's ooloo, the oldest polar bear in captivity, enjoying her snow making machine yesterday. it made 10-ton of snow for her. she was rescued back in 1985. the goal of polar bear day is to bring awareness to global warning and the impact on animals. that looks cool there. we could use a snow-making >> right now it's all about the pretty shots out there from mt. tam. look at all the collars. it's a beautiful start. cooler today all over the bay area. 43 napa, 46 novato and 44 in san ramon. but once again above average even with the clouds cover. we will talk about our warmest day of the week and when we could see some rain in just a few minutes. >> also next from ridiculous to the sublime. that's what warriors coach steve kerr called the dubs fantastic finish against the thunder last night. you have to see it to believe
