now from abc 7, live breaking news. >> that breaking news is happening right now where an hour's long standoff has just ended. i'm eric thomas. >> and i'm dion lim. let's get to abc 7 news reporter kate larsen who's live for us in el-sobrante with more on a situation that had been going on for hours. >> reporter: three minutes ago this situation ended when the suspect gave up after an hour's long standoff that started around 4:30 this afternoon. i'm on a small road in el-sobrante the police tape was just taken down and a sheriff's deputy took me back here. the house this happened is the one that's lit up with the flagpole if you can see it about three houses down. what i'm told by neighbors is that this man who lives there has been acting up ever since he
moved in a month ago, threatening violence towards neighbors, screaming and yelling in the street, and it escalated today. police and sheriffs deputies spent hours trying to get him out. using noise calls like this. take a listen. so neighbors were listening to high pitched noises like that all afternoon and evening while the sheriffs tried to get this guy to come out of his home. one neighbor who actually called 911 showed me a photo of who he says is this man holding what appears to be a rifle. he said he was threatening neighbors saying i'mkill you, i. you're going to die. so when the sheriff showed up, they evacuated the neighbors,
about a block's worth of people waiting for this to end. >> he came out with a gun saying he was going to kill everybody. >> cops running around hiding behind cars trying to get him to answer the telephone, he's not doing it. >> he turned the radio up. the cops please say keep answer your phone. all their guns are drawn but they're not really doing anything. >> reporter: until just a few minutes ago, this is sort of what the scene looked like here. all those neighbors relieved to go home finally after hours of sitting around. even though this is over and this man is in custody, some of the neighbors are worried says -- the neighbors say that this man was arrested just a week ago after a similar incident although that incident did not involve a gun. so people still afraid to talk, still afraid about what's going to happen next if this man comes back to their neighborhood. that's the latest i'm kate larsen. we'll send it back to you.
>> at least they can go back to their homes. now to our other top story tonight. a kidnapping in san francisco leads to a fiery crash in the east bay now one person is dead and another is in critical condition. >> lilian kim joins us with more on this story. >> reporter: a san francisco police officer pursued two people across the bridge this afternoon after reports they shoved a woman in the trunk. that ended when the vehicle went up in flames. >> video shows officers dragging a kidnapping vehicle away from the car. police say his car crashed in emeryville earlier while trying to evade a san francisco police officer. >> the police officer, she pretty much held her calm. she had to hold her gun on him for whatever reason, and she asked for someone else with a
fire extinguisher. we're yelling for the guy to get out of the car. >> several people tried to help. rick mcgee injured his hand helping to rescue the man. he's a retired firefighter. >> he couldn't take the seat belt off. i yelled for a knife. i cut the seat belt off and pulled him out of the sunroof. >> reporter: the suspect is in critical condition but his passenger died. foreignly the police say the victim escaped well before the crash. >> we located her. she was able to get out of the trunk of that vehicle by using the emergency release lever. >> reporter: an escape that very well may have saved her life. police say she was treated at the hospital and is in fair condition. lilian kim abc 7 news. a fire erupted ins so leto at about 6:30 tonight.
the flames roaring in video you see from an abc 7 viewer. firefighters say the fire damaged two buildings. one firefighter was hurt when he got an electric shock and several people who live in one of the buildings have been displaced. >> there were six residential units between the second and third floor. they're not going tbl ae come back in tonight due to the utilities shut off. >> the fire was in an alley and spread to the buildings. its cause is under investigation. happening right now we are closing in on the summit between president trump and north korean leader, kim jong-un. >> both men have arrived in singapore for their meeting. a live look at the city, it's just after 2:00 p.m. on monday there. >> we have how what happens at the g7 summit could affect the talks. >> reporter: president trump projecting confidence when he

said maybe we'll see how it goa goes. >> we'll see how the weather goes. here's drew. >> we're entering a warming trend. so beautiful weather for the parade on tuesday for the warriors. live doppler 7 showing you we have clear skies winds were active today, in most cities the winds have backed off. a few exceptions, half moon bay and san francisco have winds of about 23 miles per hour. but the trend is for the winds to relax across the entire region. not too chilly out there right now. 60 degrees in san jose, oa san francisco checking in the at 55 degrees. overnight tonight, the winds gradually subsiding in most spots. temperatures in the upper 40s to mid 50s your starting temperatures out the door tomorrow morning.
the winds tomorrow morning not a huge issue, breezy on the coast, perhaps 14 miles per hour winds but elsewhere generally light and the winds will be light compared to what the weekend had. by 3:00 monday afternoon the winds, generally less than 10 miles per hour. that allows us to warm up nicely tomorrow afternoon. warmer weather on the way for your monday. it's going to be feel june like. 74 in oakland a lot of sun shine in san jose, 83 in the south bay. 86 in santa rosa. the heat will increase more come tuesday. future tracker temperatures by tuesday afternoon look at the 90s on the board. south bay, san jose in the 90s. around the immediate bay shoreline tuesday you see mid 70s to mid 80s. so certainly will be warm for the warriors parade.
by 11:00 temperature comfortable at 69 degrees. and by 1:00 those numbers soring higher. by 1:00 a temperature of 76 degrees. enjoy the warm weather. want to give you an update on an intensifying hurricane off the coast of mexico. it's hurricane bud, a category 2 storm. the winds 105 miles per hour. by monday evening, likely a major category three storm with winds of 115 miles per hour. and then as it treks to the north it enters cooler water and that will weaker the storm but you can see by thursday, 5:00 in the evening the winds still gusting about 50 miles per hour. and the current forecast does take it right over cabo. and by friday the winds are still 40, 50 miles per hour. there will also be waves. rough surf around cabo, the
waves anywhere from 10 to 15 feet. that storm will not impact our weather locally at all. it's all about the sunshine, warmer weather. not as windy on your monday. temperatures sore on tuesday. still feeling summary midweek here on wednesday. we'll start to cool off on the coast thursday then widespread cooling friday, and saturday and dads on sunday for father's day, morning clouds and afternoon sunshine. once again, cooler. >> cooler, relatively speaking. >> i noticed that tuesday was forecast for 98 and yesterday

are moving to the bay area. >> a first of its kind olympic training facility is opening treasure island. >> run up to the other side. go, go, go. don't let go. oh, no! there we e kids are learning fre of the best in the world. we put on life jackets and took a ride with olympic medalist caleb payne as he taught fourth graders the basics of sailing. the u.s. olympic team is moving to san francisco and will open their first facility on the west coast. it's a training base unlike any other. >> it's huge. >> we flew above clipper cove where the facility will be located. it's the facility for advanced sailing and technology. >> we got together
sailing and desided what we needed was a full-time home for the athletes, coaches, therapists, all of that group. as we got together and looked around the country we decided that san francisco would be the best place for the home. >> they'll be close to silicone valley with advances in the sport. and the windy conditions help. it's not just the olympic athletes that benefit from the move. the novice sailors will also. >> are you going to pull it towards you or away from you? >> towards me. >> for these kids to see a lane carved out in front of them i think is really empowering. >> reporter: fast is a three-way partnersh partnership. the foundation and the center want to open up the sport to more diversity through community sailing programs. >> our goal through fast is to have a pipeline.
>> reporter: they run this program for public schools in san francisco each year introducing sailing to nearly 1,300 children. >> it's a huge step forward for the country, for the sailors that want to reach the top of the podium. you see some of these kids, maybe they're thet nn ten year's time. >> it's one of the greatest sports. you learn responsibility for your equipment, time and distance, sportsmanship. it's one of thet th games. >> reporter: olympic training on the water started this month but the facility is still being set up. >> we'll have the facility in the next six months. >> reporter: it was donated by oracle. and oracle has an america's cup team. it will be the same structures and containers they use. for more details and links and how to get your kids involved
