it was memorial day of 20-14... investigators say carrillo shot the boy because she was going through a break-up with his father. carrillo reportedly told investigators she was using meth at the time and tried to kill herself. according to the indictment counts, two of carrillo's other children were present at the time. they were not attacked. carrillo also faces child endangerment charges./// music ((dave courvoisier)) > a new poll released today shows donald trump 19 points ahead of senator ted cruz in new hampshire polling. the republican race remains tight in iowa... and tomorrow trump is holding a campaign rally here in las vegas. it's at the south point hotel and casino on the boulevard and silverado ranch. doors open at 11 a-m. the event begins at 1. trump will also make a guest appearance at the outdoor sportsman awards at the venetian at 7:00./// ((dave courvoisier)) > and former president bill clinton will stump for his wife hillary tomorrow -- also in las vegas. he's hosting an organizing event

academy" on vegas drive near rancho. doors open at 6:30 p-m... the event starts at 7:15./// ((denise valdez)) > the jury in the otis holland trial will reconvene tomorrow morning. closing arguments were heard today in the trial of the former pastor accused of molesting several underage girls in his congregation. the jury had about half an hour to deliberate before court convened for the evening. holland could face life in prison if convicted./// ((denise valdez)) > the woman accused in last month's deadly strip crash now faces more charges. clark county district attorney filed 71 felony charges today against 24 year-old lakeisha holloway. she's accused of intentionally plowing her car into a crowd of pedestrians on the strip. among the charges... 34 counts of attempted murder and 34 counts of battery with a deadly weapon. a status check is scheduled for february fourth./// ((dave courvoisier)) > history was made in the nfl this evening. ron futrell is on the sports desk tonight with the development. courvoisiernevada taxicab authority today... saying their practices are ripping off folks who hail a cab in las vegas. ((denise valdez)) by 47-million dollars per year, to be exact. auditors were so critical of the taxicab authority, which regulates only clark county, that they recommended abolishing it altogether and turning its duties over to another agency. ((dave courvoisier)) so how exactly did auditors say customers are being ripped off? they started by pointing at a three-dollar credit card

excessive. state agencies pay eight-and-a half cents to wells fargo per credit card transaction... and taxi agencies in other cities allow fees between around four to five percent of the total fare... that three dollar fee is about 17- percent of the total average fare in clark county... and auditors said it should be reduced to 90 cents at most -- immediately. ((denise valdez)) the audit also criticized the authority for approving rate hikes even though gas prices are going down... saying it's a windfall for cab companies. now, don't blame your cab driver. they don't see any of the money from these fees... and union representatives argue that they've tried to do away with them because passengers frequently mistake them for a tip, which hurts the driver's bottom line. ((dave courvoisier)) the report is a big talker on social media... tina writes that she is a former cab driver and that the authority wastes drivers' time and tax money. time and tax money. orlando thinks the authority should be fined and that money should be donated to our

ninth planet in our solar system after all? ((denise valdez)) scientists say they've discovered a planet orbiting far beyond pluto. two researchers with cal tech have evidence that a giant planet is orbiting billions of miles away... and it has a mass ten times the size of earth. they started looking for the planet because they observed several other space objects swinging in similar orbits in the outer reaches of our solar system. there's a catch though: (( dr. mike brown /caltech: "we have not seen it yet. we have felt it. we have seen its gravitational influence but we haven't seen it." )) ((denise valdez)) now that the theory of this planet is out there, the researchers hope it can be located with a powerful telescope. it will be hard to see because it would be dimly lit that far away from our sun. the theoretical planet would be
