"the denver broncos win super bowl 50." peyton manning and the denver broncos defeated the carolina panthers to win their third super bowl. linebacker von miller was named mvp. (miller) it was coach phillips, it was peyton, d-ware and all of my teammates of course. peyton manning is the first starting quarterback to win with two different teams. but he wouldn't say if this really was his last rodeo. ( manning) i wanna go hug my family and i'm going to drink a lot of budweiser tonight. the broncos offense exploded early. while fumbles plagued the panthers. the ticket was a golden one - going for thousands of dollars! but fans say it was worth it. the crowd enjoyed some of the biggest names in pop music. lady gaga sang the national anthem. cold play scored at half-time with an assist from beyonce and bruno mars. it was a golden night for over

in the valley are frustrated after they say the company cut fares by 30-percent... kirsten joyce meanwhile... the recent cuts aren't only being felt around here.... uber drivers are protesting in new york city... after they say the popular ride-sharing company cut their fares by 15-percent. drivers say the rate cut means less money in their pockets. brian loftus 8 news now reporter michael stevens spoke with drivers in our area about this latest bump in the road and joins us live. good morning michael? ((michael stevens)) brian, kirsten... drivers i spoke with say a price cut has already happened... now they're forced to pick- up more people to make what they did before. ((kevin joy // uber driver: we see about a 30% decrease in

joy says he's making less... after uber slashed rates in december by 30- percent. the company says they did it to quote -- "achieve better outcomes for both riders and drivers as we have seen in cities around the country." adding "that with the increased demand, drivers' income goes up as well." ((kevin joy // uber driver: it did seem like we got some more customers for a little while there -- but its died back down again. )) ((kevin joy // uber driver: it seems like its been harder for me to find fares mainly because its gotten slower. but i have to drive longer -- to be able to make the same amount of money i was making before the rate went down. )) kevin's complaint is the same hundreds shared last week in new york city... after the ride- sharing company cut fares by 15- percent. ((inder parmer // nyc uber driver: i would just ask the american public if their salaries decreased by 45 percent in 2 years how would they feel?)) ((brian loftus)) > pay a fine or go to jail. that's what one woman was told over the phone recently ... and it had her concerned. ((kirsten joyce)) so she turned to 8 on your side 's michelle mortensen for help. ((michelle mortensen)) > these types of calls are always a scam! thankfully ... madelyn called us right away .. and collected a ton of information from the caller. turns out there were tons of red flags it was a scam .. and i'm going to reveal them all .. so you don't get taken if this call comes to you. here's how it all went down. the call came from a 702 number and madelyn said she was told she missed a court date and needed to pay a fine immediately. if she refused a bench warrant would be issued in her name ... the police would be sent to her home and she would be arrested. when she refused to pay they transferred her to sheriff john stanley. he answered ...

the way to her home. of course they never came ... because this is a scam. here's the clues. first ... if you miss a court date ... you are notified by mail .. not by phone. second ... debt collectors have no authority to issue warrants or arrest people. in fact making threats like that is illegal. third ... the scammers transferred her to sheriff john stanley ... when the clark county sheriff is joe lombardo. wrong name .. wrong guy ... dead give away. so what's the take away here. anyone who calls you and tries to scare you or threaten you is likely not legitimate. that's how scammers operate... through fear. so if you get a call like that .. hang up. but if your too scared to do that .. get their call back number ... and call me or the police ... to get some reassurance. and now you know! with 8 on your side i'm michelle mortensen./// ((kirsten joyce)) if you have a problem.. call the 8 on your side hotline
