we did hear the sound of flash bangs going off which could be a sign this stand-off could be ending soon. but let's get you caught up on what we know right now. police say this stand-off started just before 9-last night. dumont. police say they responded to call of a man screaming for help. people in the area also say they possibly heard gunshots. when officers showed up... they started talking to the man and decided to call in swat because they believe the man is armed and refusing to come outside. what caused a man to go on a rampage with a machete inside a restaurant last night. four people were hurt when police say a man with a machete stormed in and started randomly attacking people. before the incident, investigators say the man visited the restaurant and talked with an employee. he left and returned with his weapon a half hour later. right now, police consider the incident a random attack. the suspect was shot and killed after a brief car chase./// ((kirsten joyce)) > valentine's day is just a few days away... in a case of mistaken identity. the murder got national attention. tammy meyers was gunned down after a series of what police are calling misunderstandi ngs. erich nowsch is the accused gunman. police released a video of nowsch confessing to the killing. he also told police meyers was not the intended target. meyers died at the hospital two days after the shooting, on valentine's day.
