((michael stevens)) brian, michelle... it's hard to believe it's all gone... as you can see there's really just a lot of debris... and dust left from the riviera hotel and casino... a fixture of las vegas for 60 years. it was something to see the landmark go down... decades of history gone in about 20 seconds. it was around 2:30 this mon went down... it wasfollowed by a huge dust cloud that filled the air. a lot of history went down with those towers. you'll remember... the riviera was featured in the rat pack original "ocean's 11" in 1960, the james bond film "diamonds are forever" and "casino" in 1995. let's not forget about all the huge headliners who performed there over the years... from liberace to dean martin... but the music stopped in may of last year after a 60-year run.

((michelle mortensen)) it's still burning as we speak. at least four-thousand acres have been charred ... and 200 buildings and homes destroyed. chris martinez brings us the latest from lower lake, california. california police have arrested a 40 year-old man and charged with him with 17 counts of arson. (sot ken pimott) e tonight and that is what's important. they say damin anthony pashilk is responsible for numerous fires over the past year and a half including the blaze that tore through the town of lake california over the weekend. it destroyed more than 175 buildings and homes (new aptn sot mark giberson) "i haven't quite lost it (his composure) yet over the whole thing. pretty much my whole life was inside that building there." the fire started

(new bite tue0032 trish lewis sot) not knowing what's going on. not knowing if you have anywhere to go. hundred-degree heat and fierce winds made battling the blaze difficult from the air and on the ground. the fire, named the "clayton fire," is burning near the same areas scortched by three major wildfires last year. (standup bridge) officials have described the clayton fire as "aggressive" and "intense." but they're hoping to gain ground. (sot - lt. doug weather is a nemesis for us" the biggest concern: the return of stronger winds that could send burning embers flying. (sot) "it only takes one of them to get out of our hands, and now we've got a problem again. we're hoping that's not going to be the case." so far, prelimnary damage estimates total more than ten million dollars. chris martinez, cbs news, lower lake, california. hotel emplyee at the hooters this weekend. according to police ... two men pulled a gun on the employee and demanded cash sunday morning. once they got the money they ran. no word how much they got. police now need your help finding the two suspects. the first man is described as five-foot-nine to to five-11... and about 200 pounds. the second man is said to be about five-foot-seven to five-9... and about 170 pounds.

((michelle mortensen)) the unrest in milwaukee is under control this morning according ot police. overnight only six arrests were made and there were no reports of major property damage. a curfew was imposed on juveniles after four milwakuee police officers were injured sunday night... three squad cars were damaged... and one store had its windows broken. the city has been on edge since an armed suspect was shot and killed by milwaukee police./// ((brian loftus)) puerto vallarta, mexico. that's on the pacific coast northwest of mexico city. ten to 12 presumed gang members who were celebrating at a restaurant at the beach resort city were taken at gunpoint. the suspects are also believed to have criminal ties. their fates are not known./// ((michelle mortensen)) 15 guantanamo bay detainees have been transferred to the united arab emirates. the inmates include nationals from afghanistan, yemen, and the u-a-e. in less than a year, 55 detainees have been transferred
