((kirsten joyce)) north las vegas police continue to search for a murder suspect who escaped from police custody. police say 25-year-old alonso perez was alone in an interview room.. and twisted his handcuffs until he broke free... made it out of the station.. then stole a truck.. and fled. truck and returned it to it's owner. but perez is still on the loose. he is accused of killing mohammed robinson on august 27-th after robinson did not hold the door for a woman at a mcdonalds. perez has an air jordan tattoo. police say he is armed and dangerous. if you know of his whereabouts, call crimestoppers. /// ((kirsten joyce)) tropical storm hermine is threatening several states along

storm surges. the storm made landfall on friday.. causing widespread damage in several southern states. jericka duncan reports from seaside heights new jersey.. nats waves along the jersey shore overnight, hermine whipped up strong waves... sea, the rough waters rocked this royal caribbean cruise ship, headed from new jersey to bermuda. ( derek biedermann// cruise ship passenger) when you see the crew on the cruise ship starting to get dizzy and sick then you know it's gotten pretty thousand people onboard the ship trying to outrun hermine. ( derek biedermann// cruise ship passenger) the whole boat started rocking people started getting sick, they started distributing vomit bags around. nats hermine the deadly storm made landfall last friday as a category 1 hurricane. it's already hammered coastal areas stretching from florida to virginia, knocking out power for hundreds of thousands and causing widespread damage.

massachusetts... (david hufnagel/ massachusetts resident) we've been doing this almost 30 years we se the sunrise on labor day no matter what. this hurricane is nothing. governor chris christie says hermine won't come close to having the same destructive power as superstorm sandy in 2012. still, he's urging everyone not to take any chances. ( chris christie) we don't want to see people. have injuries or loss of life because of going into the ocean in hermine may regain hurricane strength but the worst of the storm is pretty much over and continues to move off shore. jericka duncan, cbs news, seaside heights, new jersey. since a deadly shooting at an ihop in carson city. 32-year old eduardo sencion walked into the ihop and opened fire... killing four people.. including three members of nevada's national guard. sencion also took his own life. soldiers and airmen are planning a memorial walk and run from the ihop to the guard complex tomorrow. members of that unit are also currenlty stationed in kuwait.. and are planning a memorial run there as well./// ((kirsten joyce)) huge crowds showed up at the vatican thisee watch mother teresa be declared a saint. the catholic nun devoted her life to helping india's poor people. she died 19 years ago. among her qualifications for saint hood.. the church credits her with having performed two miraculous cures of the sick. about 15-hundred homeless people from across italy were bused into the vatican to watch......they were also given seats of honor at the mass./// ((kirsten joyce)) the giant panda... one of the symbols of china... is off the endangered species
