signing up on health care by yourself on sites like these can be a little confusing... that's why the silver state health exchange is holding a kick-off event at cashman convention center to answer any questions. you have from now until january 1st to sign-up for health care using "nevada health link"... which is our statewide site you'll shop for plans. open enrollment is only 12-weeks out of the year... people with the exchange say th' 50-thousand people in the state without healthcare and they want to close the gap between the uninsured and insured. in the past... new enrollee's have said it's much easier... with someone guiding you through the process: (( i was explaining some previous problems i had doing it on my own, not coming to one of these things. and it was an absolute nightmare. here going through an actual broker to help you was so worth it.

college preparatory academy. kirsten joyce >> a vote could happen tomorrow .. creating a potential takeover or partnership with democracy prep academy. 8 news now reporter nia wong joins us live outside the school .. where some students say they are not happy about this decision. nia? today... and investigators believe they will not have clinton's email scandal resolved by next week. that's according to a u-s law enforcement official ...who spoke to cnn. the fbi is looking through thousands of newy emails.. that were found on the laptop, of former new york congressman anthony weiner... who is the estranged husband of clinton's top aide, huma abedin. the clinton campaign is accusing fbi director james comey for disclosing the emails. the justice department says they're trying to review the emails quickly before election day. /// ((kirsten joyce)) clinton is also making a quick stop here in las vegas tomorrow. she's holding a public event to talk about the high stakes of this election for nevada families. no word yet on where or when the event will take place. ///

((michael stevens)) >> brian, kirsten... and that's why the silver state health insurance exchange is hosting a kick-off event tonight... to walk you through the process. open enrollment is only 12-weeks out of the year... and you have until january 31st to sign-up. remember... this is a very important deadline. it's because the affordable care act mandates everyone to have health insurance... and if you don't -- you could pay a fine that comes out of your income taxes. last year -- those fines were 6-hundred and 95 dollars per adult... and about 3-hundred and 47 bucks per kid.
