measuring stick that is clear to read by tenth of an inch. 3 measuring in these conditions is difficult because of all the drifting snow... as you can see here i was falling earlier in snow drift spots that were up to my hips. this is why we put the snow measuring board away from buildings and trees.. so that snow does not fall onto it and we also take an average measurements around the board. 3 we measure every hour during the storm and sweep it off for the next far today we have gotten 9.8 inches of snow and this last hour we got (measuring snow) xxx amount of snow so thats a total of xxx snow here at station...i'll send it back to you as i sweep this off for the next measurement. reporting live in dakota dunes kayla novak siouxland news. 3 today's storm causing much of siouxland to shut down sioux city... all city offices closed at 10 this morning, 3 along with the tyson events center and all three branches

side, it took until this afternoon for the iowa democratic party to declare hillary clinton the winner... by a razor thin margin. 3 democrat bernie sanders was already rallying supporters in new hampshire before the sun came up this morning. he's predicting a big win there after narrowly losing the democratic caucuses in iowa. "we just got in from iowa where we astounded the world and now in new hampshire we will astound the world again." hillary clinton won two more state delegates than sanders in the closest race in caucus history."i am so thrilled that i am coming to new hampshire after winning iowa."on cbs this morning, bob schieffer said the results show clinton's campaign has problems."bernie sanders an avowed socialist who has never sought office as a democrat gave her a real run. this is not a victory for hillary clinton.""on the republican

percent of the vote. but it's the third place finisher who is now getting a lot of attention.""welcome back. i'm glad to be back."marco rubio greeted voters in new hampshire after finishing (gfx) just one point behind second place finisher donald trump. "we need to beat hillary clinton and bernie sanders and i'm the best candidate to do it.""marco rubio is now in the top tier and he's going to receive a lot of love from the others hoping to be the mainstream alternative."donald trump has a big lead in the polls in new hampshire but ted cruz will look to make a dent in that lead after monday's win. "i think the voters sent the message that they want a consistent conservative."new hampshire's primary -- the first in the nation is tuesday. craig boswell, cbs news, des moines, iowa. 3 the first official vote of the year has led to casualties on both sides... democrat martin o'malley and republican mike huckabee have both dropped out of the race after poor performances in the hawkeye state. 3 so that's a look at what happened statewide... but what about here in siouxland?. 3 our nick popham joins us live

well as a couple other interesting tidbits from caucus night.nick? 3 larry, diana... last night featured surprisingly close races on both sides here in northwest iowa...and some equally surprising winners in the three biggest counties. 3 final results show that in woodbury and sioux county- democrats felt the bern as vermont senator bernie sanders won the majority of both counties.former secretary of state hillary clinton found success in plymouth county after getting support from 55 percent of caucus goers.those precincts with slashed black lines indicate that both sanders and clinton were tied. on the gop side-even with the overall lead in iowa-ted cruz did not gain the most supporters in siouxland as donald trump secured both woodbury and plymouth county. the junior senator from texas was able to beat trump in sioux county... getting 33 percent of the vote. surprisingly- mr. trump came in fourth here losing to cruz,

and doctor ben carson.another surprising thing last night was that a few delegates for the county convention were given to hillary clinton by a few precincts-many people were questioning the results after some participants had a result-the delegates were given to clinton after her side won a coin flip. 3 the coin flips in these five precincts however did not significantly impact clinton's win in iowa-even though that win was by less than half of one percent.larry, diana? 3 3 each day... thousands of people across the country are faced with the decision of whether or not to donate a loved one's organs. 3 coming up after the break in tonight's healthwatch... how that decision was repaid with love for one arizona woman. 3 "you're watching siouxland news at five on kmeg 14, with
