"early today" starts right now. happy halloween. i'm frances rivera. >> i'm ayman mohyeldin, good morning, everyone. >> it is a halloween trick or treat depending on your politics and it's shaking up the presidential race with just eight days to go. the fbi has obtained a new warrant to review the e-mails related to hillary clinton's private e-mail server. those e-mails were found on a device shared between huma abedin and disgraced former congressman's anthony weiner. the couple is now estranged. james comey is now taking a new look at the e-mails that may be pertinent into the situation due to the e-mails. he announced that via a letter on friday. and this morning, former attorney general eric holder is speaking out with a new op-ed slamming comey for a move, calling him a good man who made

a serious mistake. writing, he has committed a serious error with potentially severe implications. now, a new four-way "washington post"/abc tracking poll shows hillary clinton just one point above donald trump and it comes as both clinton and trump made the renewed investigation the center of the presidential campaign. >> we never thought we were going to say thank you to anthony weiner. this is the biggest political scandal since watergate. >> the director himself has said he doesn't know whether the e-mails referenced in his letter are significant or not. >> in fact, it's not just strange, it's unprecedented and deeply troubling. >> hillary clinton is not the victim. you, the american people, are the victims. now the fbi has found -- you're not going to believe this one -- this just happened. another 650,000 e-mails.

investigation. >> we have news on the massive fire that engulfed an american airlines flight in chicago. the serious engine malfunction that caused the fire to rip through the plane has affected four other planes in the last 16 years. it began with a disk violently broke apart in the engine and ignited this fire just before the 767 was set to take off. 21 people needed medical attention. the investigation into the incident and the plane's engine is ongoing. >> italy's prime minister vows to rebuild after the most powerful earthquake to hit the country in three decades decimated towns and villages. it's the third earthquake to hit italy in month. a much visited basilica is other landmarks were reduced to rubble. the area was rocked by a pair of earthquakes just last weekend. in august, an earthquake killed nearly 300 people there. thousands are being assisted by

day. matt bradley joins us now live from iraq with the latest. matt. >> reporter: good morning. that's right. the offensive has picked up once again on the eastern side of mosul. this time by the counterterrorism forces. the elite u.s. trained unit. they're trying to push past some of the christian villages and towns they have already liberated into mosul, and word we're getting now is they're actually getting quite close to the city itself. if this fighting on the eastern side, this iraqi security forces, are the hammer for mosul, then the shiite militias you mentioned are the an vill. they're trying to block the isis elements within the city from retreating west into syria from where they came just two years ago when they swept into northern iraq and took over all that territory. but these shiite forces are problematic. they have been implicated in the past in crimes against civilian populations in this area and the rest of iraq. while they may be seen as central to the fight against
