thank you for being here. guys, today is president trump's 72nd birthday. everyone in the white house hid to jump out and yell "surprise," and while they were hiding they were like, "hey, we found melania." it was great. [ laughter ] but everyone had a great time celebrating. at one point the staff brought out a pinata for trump but the president just deported it. [ laughter ] and you go"no, that's now how you play, man." check this out. a local news station in connecticut does a segment called birthday smiles, and today they featured trump. but i'm not sure they used the best birthday smile photo. watch this. >> thanks for staying with us here on news 12 connecticut. i'm rick holmes. it is time now for some birthday smiles. we start off with -- [ laughter ] a very special birthday. president donald trump. >> jimmy: that is fantastic. [ applause ] that was trump's face when he heard that he wasn't getting a a bouncy castle. [ light laughter ] the states would be northern california, southern california, and kardashistan. [ laughter and applause ] i don't know if it's a good idea. this made me laugh. last night on cnn, don lemon was talking to carl bernstein and they tried to do a high five. take a look at how that went. >> i'm very good about -- >> maybe by reporting the truth, we're going to prevail here. >> yes, thank you. give me a high five on that. >> that's what we really ought to -- >> give me a high five on that, carl. [ laughter ] >> reporting the -- that's our job. >> jimmy: that is pretty
impressive. they ruined the high five and a a thumbs up at the same time. it was very, very rare. guys, this sunday is father's day. so, happy father's day, early. [ cheers and applause ] but with the big day coming up, a lot of people are shopping for the perfect father's day card, and while there are lots of good choices there are also some very unpopular cards out there. for example, this card says, "dad, you taught me everything i know." open up, it says, "that's why i'm so messed up." [ laughter and applause ] this next one says, "this father's day, i'm giving you something you'll love." open it up. "i promise not to touch the thermostat." [ laughter ] and finally this one says, "you're my best friend, my inspiration, and my hero." open it up. "but i'm still not coming over to reset the wifi." [ laughter and applause ] i'm busy, dad. this is very interesting. vaccine researchers in st. louis are offering people $3,500 to be exposed to the flu for research purposes.

[ laughter ] >> jimmy: right. so how do you feel about all this? >> uh, if i'm honest, not good. i mean, i've been living in new york city for years, just getting the flu for free this whole time. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: yeah. i'm sorry about that. >> yeah, i mean, i'm getting it on the subway, waiting for the subway, on my way out of the subway. >> jimmy: yeah. [ light laughter ] mostly just the subway. >> yeah, spend a lot of time there. i got a long commute, plus i don't wash my hands. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: well, have you ever considered using purell or something like that? >> oh, jimmy, i didn't move to new york city to use purell on my hands. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: is that right? >> it's the cheapest alcohol you can get.

and it was fun and funny. but this -- the generation award, i have been thinking about it nonstop since i heard. [ light laughter ] i -- i mean it, because like, it's basically saying all right chris, you have permission to say a minute worth of wisdom to the new generation. and honestly, like, right now, we were just talking about this back stage, there's like not -- you know, there's this mr. rogers documentary that just came out. >> jimmy: oh, it's fantastic. >> and there's like so -- i don't know. i think we need people to step up and share some positive -- positive light on this young, new, amazing generation, and it's me. so i'm your last hope. [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: you're the -- you're the new mr. rogers? >> i hope so. good luck. >> jimmy: you had such a great year, i know you have been all around the world, but you were in "avengers: infinity war." >> yeah. >> jimmy: which has crushed the box office. continues to crush. >> jimmy: here's you with the comic book. >> yeah, look at this. >> jimmy: can you explain this story, now? >> yeah, you've got to hear this story. >> jimmy: all right. >> so this is me, just recently, around christmas time, and i have here the comic book, "the infinity gauntlet." >> jimmy: okay. >> okay, when i was a kid, i was collecting comic books. i was about 13 years old, but i actually loved comic books, but i didn't have any, because they were -- they were expensive, you know. it was like five bucks a piece or something. my friends travis and forrest, they collected wolverine and punisher, and they each had a a number one. and i was like, you got to get a number one because i thought a number one comic book, that's going to put you through college one day. [ light laughter ] if you have the number one then you'll sell it for $10,000 one day, and you'll be set for life. >> jimmy: yeah. >> so, i went -- i went to bingo with my mom. [ laughter ] and this story. >> jimmy: as kids do. >> as one does. >> jimmy: yes. as one does. >> accompanied mom to the gambling hall. >> jimmy: a little bingo time. >> and she let me play, and i picked my own numbers, for one game, the pick eight, i could play. and i won $300 and i went and i spent it all on comic books, just blew the entire check, and i got all these number ones,
including this one, right here, "the infinity gauntlet." >> jimmy: which is -- >> which is like a really crucial story element in the "infinity war" film, so my brother dug that up and he was like, dude, did you know we have -- you bought that comic book when you were a kid. and so, this is where it starts to get weird. i was in london, and i was at this bellator mma fight, have you ever -- it's like a -- kinda like a mma, kind of like the ufc, a big fight. >> jimmy: yep. >> and this guy -- >> jimmy: you're into that, you love it. >> i love that stuff, yeah. and these guys just beat the crap out of each other, i was having the time of my life. i was sitting next to 50 cent, it was like, my life is so awesome. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: yeah. >> they were playing 50 cent, and i was sitting next to him. [ talking over each other ] >> jimmy: was he going to the music or was he just -- >> yeah, i just looked at him and i was like, they're playing your music. he's like, yeah, i know that's my music. [ light laughter ] and -- but i was just having the time of my life. and the guy who won, this champion, named michael "venom" page comes out and they bring him an infinity gauntlet, and they slide it on his hand and he's the victor. and he looks and notices me, and points to me, outside of the cage.
and meanwhile 50 cent is playin and 50 nt is rit next to me. ught[ light ] and the guy's got an infinity gauntlet, and it was like deja vu. it was one of those moments where your life and your destiny intersect. [ light laughter ] >> jimmy: i mean -- >> and i -- and it was just the craziest thing. i thought for certain i was going to wake up. >> jimmy: look it -- where would you just have something like this lying around. >> he didn't know i was going to be there. [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: he did not know. >> didn't know. and i was like, honestly, i -- part of me in that moment was like, oh, crap. [ light laughter ] this is a dream. [ light laughter ] this whole thing's been a a dream. i'm going to wake up living in a tent. [ laughter ] and this whole 20 years has been a dream. >> jimmy: yeah. >> a big fever dream. an awesome dream, i'd be so gutted if i woke up and it was gone. >> jimmy: your dream is like, you got "parks and rec." >> i got "parks and rec," yeah. [ cheers and applause ] yeah, i moved to -- i moved to hollywood. >> jimmy: moved to hollywood. >> the whole thing wouldn't -- it makes sense, it could still happen. you, i'd be like, the guy from "snl" was hosting the show that johnny carson used to host.

[ motorcycle sound ] >> did my own stunts. >> jimmy: wow! that's how they do it. the secret. >> yeah. yeah. >> jimmy: the secret move of a a moving car. i didn't even think about that. >> yeah, no, that's all cg. >> jimmy: oh, it is. oh perfect, yeah -- >> yeah, i was on a stage. >> jimmy: tell us what we have to look forward to in this film, "jurassic world: fallen kingdom." >> well, it's, you know, the sequel to "jurassic world." it's been three years. i just saw it the other day for the first time. i'd seen an early cut, maybe four months ago. it's so good. i'm so happy with it. >> jimmy: yeah, yeah. >> it is so awesome. it's really, really cool. it's, there's a volcano that's exploding, and all the dinosaurs have been left to fend for themselves. the park is shut down and bryce -- bryce's character, claire feels really bad and kind of uses her settlement money to put together this like dinosaur protection group, and says like, we have to save these animals. they're essentially endangered species. we can't just let them die and half the world is like, i think you should just let them die. [ light laughter ] and -- and then she puts together a a team and goes back to try to
extract some of the dinosaurs and that's like the first, maybe third to first half of the movie is just getting the dinosaurs off the island. and it's this amazing natural disaster, this extinction level event happening, it's really action packed. and then it goes off the island and becomes more of a confined kind of -- it's a really cool like horror film inside of like an enchanted castle. [ light laughter ] >> jimmy: it's almost like a a haunted -- >> it's like a haunted mansion horror film and it's -- the director, j.a. bayona is really, really good at this kind of a movie. he does like great suspense, it has an awesome score and then in the end it opens up the door to kind of show you what can happen in the future with jurassic, and it's just mind blowing, i think like it's really exciting. >> jimmy: yes! a carnivore? >> no, it's got pointy teeth. so i think it's -- maybe, a a predator or maybe it's something that eats a bunch of stuff like a raccoon, or like a a possum or something. >> jimmy: that's interesting, because last time you lied to me. no, you told the truth, but you acted like you were lying like, you didn't know. >> right. >> jimmy: and now, you're acting like, you don't know, oh, i don't know, it could be a a thing, i don't know. i have never seen teeth before. you know.
