hit and run over the weekend. it happened saturday morning just before 6. police say a 55 year old man was crossing 4th street near spokane, when he was hit by a pickup truck. we're told the driver was speeding and their headlights were off. the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. the truck is described as new and light- colored. anyone with information is asked to call reno police or secret witness at 322- 4900. a 2-thousand dollar reward is being offered. third police believe a deadly shooting in south lake-- stemmed from a drug deal. it happened saturday night at the beverly lodge. police found 40 year old dennis wright junior outside one of the rooms with a gunshot wound to his chest. he was taken to a local hospital where he died. according to police...wright and a woman drove to south lake to deliver a hundred pounds of marijuana. a fight broke out and shots were fired. the woman suffered a head injury. police are asking anyone with information

information about the recall, at kolo t-v dot com. just click on hot topics. ### now to the investigation into the e-coli outbreak linked to chipotle. the wall street journal is reporting the outbreak could be declared over as soon as today. dozens of people across 9 states were affected by the outbreak since october of last year. despite an investigation, the c-d-c hasn't been able to pinpoint an exact source of the contamination. the business has been trying to reassure customers their food is safe to eat since the outbreak. looking to buy a gun on facebook? think again. the social media giant announced it is banning users from coordinating private gun sales on its social networking site. the ban is also in effect on it's mobile app and instagram. the ban does not apply to licensed gun dealers for purchases completed off facebook. the move brings firearms in line with facebook's ban on the private sale of marijuana, pharmaceuticals and illegal drugs. the carolina panthers just arrived in

of the girl. amber roberts has more. blacksburg, va. a virginia tech freshman was charged with murder saturday night after the remains of a 13- year-old girl who disappeared from her home were found in north carolina, authorities said. nicole madison lovell was last seen between 7 p.m. and midnight wednesday at her home in blacksburg, virginia, police said. the family found a dresser pushed against her bedroom door and said the middle-school student probably climbed out the apartment window, according to the roanoke times. the family was extremely worried because lovell required daily prescription medication for a liver transplant and didn't carry the medicine with her, according to police in blacksburg, virginia. the search ended saturday afternoon when her body was found about 100 miles away from home, blacksburg police chief anthony wilson said. freshman engineering major

caused major flooding and cut off a community yesterday. an excavator was called into to unclog ice from the south fork of the yuba river. officials say heavy rains on friday played a role in the flooding. at least two feet of water wiped out this road in soda springs. the high waters even forced royal gorge ski resort to shut down for the day. the winter storm turned deadly in southern california after a large tree fell onto a car... killing the driver inside. brandon lewis has more on the tragic accident. "we were seconds, literally seconds away from being underneath that tree ourselves." chris travis just turned the corner after this 8 foot wide tree came crashing down on a small silver honda "we ran over to see if we could help out or assist in any way and we got as close as we could, try to see if anyone could respond an we couldnt even see a body." firefighters say the person inside the car
also damaged by the tree, but were parked and unoccupied. "our heart goes out to the person it's a terrible terrible situation." once the person inside was pronounced, firefighters adjusted their tactic and called for additional manpower, but other crews were tied up at the many other downed trees throughout the city. "we've been busy all day with high wind related incidents. threes no reason to believe this was also caused by wind, but we wont' know until the experts get here to determine that." crews are expected to spend several hours clearing debris before they can access the body, but travis says it'll take longer than that for him to recover from knowing he came close to also ending up under the tree. "life is so precious and that could have been us. it seriously could have been us. i cried earlier and since that happened we've still been emotional because it's not something you can ever prepare yourself for."
