watchdog group earthworks-- won the status in lawsuits, filed last fall, by nevada and idaho. this complicated case has many different groups and government officials involved. the lawsuits are centered around the land regulations, to protect the bird. a lawsuit filed last week by utah's governor, claims the restrictions around sage grouse habitat-- are unnecessary. the current restrictions prevent things like livestock grazing, and road expansions. the case is expected to drag into this summer. ### washoe county voters will be asked to approve a sales tax hike in november to pay for repairs and construction at washoe county schools. voters will be asked to raise the sales tax to eight-point two-six-five percent in washoe county. currently our sales tax is seven-point-seven- two-five percent. according to the reno gazzette-journal, this would make washoe county's sales tax the highest in the state. right now? clark county has the highest sales tax with eight- point-one-five percent. the tax is expected raise 781 million dollars for school repair and
next nine years.## the california highway patrol is investigating a bizarre attack on the golden gate bridge over the weekend. someone armed with a blow gun, shot darts at two visitors walking across the bridge. sergio keen-t-on-ah quintana reports. both blow darts are about four inches long. according to the california highway patrol - one of them penetrated one victim's thigh pretty deep. ofc. andrew barclay / california highway patrol: "and was able actually to go through his jeans and into this leg by about two inches." as paramedics arrived to help the first victim - a second walked up and said she was also hit. "she had been struck in the knee cap in the knee cap. it had actually gone into the skin." so far, investigators believe the darts were launched from a car driving northbound on the bridge. they're working with the golden gate bridge authority to see if they have any surveillance video to help catch the culprits behind this attack. vista point is one of the most popular places in the bay area. bobby rai was here showing his family from london - this view.
