"it is just a great feeling coming down the hill. especially when they are not helping you and you finally make it to the point where you are actually making the turns yourself. it almost feels like you used to ski when you were on your feet and all that, you just lean into the corners and come down the hill and get ready for your next run,

some veterans are in sit-down skis. others are skiing with a prosethesis... and still others are skiing with standard equipment... but have brain injuries or p-t-s-d. the ski week is put on by "achieve tahoe" an alpine meadows based adaptive sports program. ### it's cleanup time for millions of americans, recovering from the furious storms that hammered much of the nation, from the midwest to the east coast. so far... at least 8 people are dead, and many more left homeless. elizabeth hur reports. to help homeowners recover and rebuild.. the national guard is on the ground in waverly virginia.. one of the hardest hit areas.. after a killer tornado with winds gusting over 100 mph.. destroyed homes and left at least three people dead.. this is something out of a movie. this is just destruction. similar scenes across pennsylvania.. this is lancaster county..

buildings were ripped apart.. the winds.. so intense.. a coast guard boat overturned in new york.. on its way to rescue a disabled fishing boat. between the conditions and mechanical issues, they ended losing power and being pushed up onto shore. more than 30 confirmed tornadoes touched down from texas to pennsylvania.. the severe outbreak.. reaching as far north as new england. everything shaking, wind crazy out there.... in the midwest.. blizzard-like conditions.. left a huge mess on the roadways.. dozens of drivers spent hours stuck in their cars.. stranded along the illinois-indiana border. back east.. the damage.. is so severe in some areas.. cleaning up means prioritizing. we're going to start with the severity, if it's the worst one, we'll get out and address it right it safe, get sidewalks and streets cleared for people. for the most part.. storm is over.. but temperature-wise.. we're in for a bit of a roller coaster ride.. from 50s today.. to 30s tomorrow sunday. elizabeth hur, abc news, ny.

the admission is just a fraction of the cost. burning man festival- goers spent-- on average about 2- thousand-dollars at the counter-culture party last year. according to the black rock city census, people spent about 6-hundred- dollars in nevada, most of which goes to food. about 80-thousand people came for the week-long celebration last year. the black rock census, is a survey-- conducted at, or after burning man, that gathers data on the festival. ### the academy awards has tried to make efforts to improve diversity at the oscars. with the show just a few days away... focus will be on, who's walking the red carpet... and who is boycotting. and, in just a couple minutes we are sitting down with comedian chris kah-tan kattan about his show here in reno this weekend.

standup comedy, movies and more... he's in town this weekend, and here with us right now. it's chris kattan. performance times: 2/25 at 7:30 p.m. 2/26 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. 2/27 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. kattan was a member of several improv/sketch comedy troupes one of them being the groundlings in los angeles. his father was an original member of the troupe. kattan also did some minor roles on tv, including the first episode of the second season of newsradio, "no, this is not based entirely on julie's life," as a photo shop employee. he moved to new york city to work on saturday night live

mr. peepers, mango, azrael abyss, kyle demarco from the demarco brothers, gay hitler, suel forrester and, most notably, one half of the butabi brothers with fellow snl cast member will ferrell, known for their trademark head-bobbing. kattan and ferrell continued the characters roxbury. kattan has made one appearance on broadway, playing xanthias in a production of aristophanes' the frogs until his replacement during previews by roger bart. kattan was set to host the game show gameshow in my head and even filmed the pilot episode in hollywood. however, he was replaced with joe rogan for the series. kattan appeared in a diet pepsi max commercial during super bowl xlii that featured "what is love" and had many actors in the commercial performing the butabi head bob. in august 2009 kattan starred in the ifc miniseries bollywood

and the difficulties he faces after a career as a comic actor, trying to attain leading man status. starting in fall of 2009, kattan appeared in a supporting role in the middle. kattan plays bob, a colleague of frankie heck's at mr. ehlert's car dealership. kattan appeared in the may 17 episode of how i met your mother as a star in a fictional movie within the show. he played himself acting as jed mosely, a character based on the main character ted with an arrogant personality. in december 2011, kattan made a guest appearance on saturday night live's christmas show, hosted by jimmy fallon with the oscars quickly approaching... the world will be watching the host chris rock-- and how he handles the growing "diversity

underway in april. construction nats after more than five years in the planning.... car nats a plan to improve the intersection of pyramid and mccarran is finally taking shape. j/h all of the properties, all of the homes that needed to be taken down as part of this project are now down. the project demolition phase is substantially complete, and it's substantially complete about 3 weeks ahead of schedule and about three weeks. under budget. that budget... about 72 million dollars, primarily from federal funds. harrington says this was a slow process because residents of 67 homes had to be relocated... and the properties demolished before road work could begin. we've been able to recycle a lot of the materials some of the wood will become mulch... some of the driveways and foundations will be recycled. all that really remains moving forward here between now and
