the wet weather making its way closer and closer to europe. as resume in the bay area is dry. our future forecast shows that 80 we could see some sprinkles for places like santa rosa just down through san raphael and into napa. nutshell lunchtime, this yellow on your screen indicate some pretty moderate rainfall for the north bay. it looks like everyone is dealing with some sprinkled around the bay area, by 5:00 p.m. your evening commute home, we could see a moderate downpour in the north bay, we have showers everywhere else at the end to 8:00 p.m. on friday this is where we are expecting heavy rainfall. that red and purple on your screen in the case heavy significant rainfall. we will continue to see that in the evening and overnight hours. as we head into tomorrow morning we will deal with unlike sprinkles from our e shores situation in the north bay. we have dry conditions by 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. it looks like we will stay dry into

as we wait for the rain tonight it did rain yesterday and here's what it looked like in the bay area during the afternoon commute. people were carrying umbrellas as the wet weather started to slow down traffic. we have pictures all over the bay area. kay thompson was tracking the storm for us all day in the north bay where we saw some of the heaviest round of rain. >>reporter: the rain slowed things down a highway traffic was slowing at a crawl on 101. it effectively put this car wash out of business for the day and left people at a bus stop cold and cranky. the beneficiary of hours of soaking rain, cab companies getting a boost in business and the gunners were working overtime to deal with the rain. many people try to

around the bay forecast does show rain as the big story especially for tonight. that is when we will see the heaviest downpour as we head into tomorrow we will see on and off showers throughout the day on sunday another system blows through. monday it looks like the rain chances will stick to our north, but we do have the potential for some wet weather in the bay area. high pressure rebuilds for tuesday in the middle of next week. temperatures are trending in the mid-60s. and over and the traffic department we do not have any hot spots but a lot of minor accidents been reported by the chp, be aware of that. the chp has issued a high wind adviser for the san mateo bridge. you see the change listed side has been acted--

that they're breaking into the education market by offering digital text books. the announcements came at a press event in new york. it happened on thursday, all the presenters at the podium are going through all of the bits and pieces. gabe slate shows us how apple makes this works. >>gabe: apple has broken into tv, music, magazines, and now they're going after education. they want to be the main source for textbooks for students kindergarten through 12th grade. these e-text books digital versions of a regular textbooks could revolutionize education. if they had their way, kitkat carrier while--kids could carry around this one tablet

and leave all the other books at home. apple says they will read in the the textbook, these are dynamic and truly interactive. i will give them the interactive part that is for sure these come to life with pictures, illustrations and graphs. any visual example can be loaded for a viewing, anything visually can be added to the content of a text book to help students understand material, like video, sound, three d graphics and interactive maps, you name it. these visuals to go along with the words could help make more sense especially for those with learning disabilities. as you read the digital text book, you can highlight the text and since you are using the tablets you can take notes while reading. one cool features called instant flash card that lets you easily create and save digital flashcards as you're going through a book to quiz yourself later. apple has

hour. as we zoom into the bay area, we are dry with no will to speak of may be a drop of showers here or there. as the check out the future forecast to continue to see pretty dry weather south of the golden gate bridge and by 8:00 a.m. we may have some sprinkles for napa, south of san raphael and up in santa rosa check out the lunchtime hour, it looks like everyone will catch some rain around the bay area. we will continue to see off and on showers by 5:00 p.m., heavy rain in the north bay and for evening commute home, you want to drive with extra caution. by 8:00 p.m. tonight the red and purple indicates some pretty heavy rainfall. we will continue to see scattered showers into the overnight hours picking up more money--we can up tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m., this indicates a band of showers. we have on and

off showers with mostly dry conditions it is not until maybe sunday morning that we could see some more wet weather approaching from the north bay again. your 49ers came on sunday looks like we will be sitting under some rainfall. take a look, 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. we will still deal with the wet weather. we have seen and on and off chance of showers for sunday's game, yesterday was a 20 percent chance but that has increased to a 70 percent chance of rain fall. kickoff is at 330, we expect will showers at 55 degrees by the start of the game and then cooling to the upper 30's--upper '40's. the heaviest showers are expected for tonight, we will see on and off showers and pop ups as we head into tomorrow and sunday. send it into another system into the evening stretching into monday. monday it looks like a lot of the rain chances will stick to our north, then tuesday, wednesday and

thursday will see a little more sunshine cloudy conditions with temperatures sitting in the mid-60s. in the traffic center there are no hot spots to tell you about but we do have several spin out reported by the chp. drive with extra caution but it is so far so good with the approach to the bay bridge toll plaza. traffic looks well with no metering lights to deal with. this ride is is 14 minutes from end to end it is pretty quiet on the golden gate bridge, you have to contend with whether we do not have any accidents to talk about for your ride coming out of the north bay.
