seconds. and we're just holding on to something and trying to figure out and register what had just happened. and we were trying to get out of the aircraft. >> where were you sitting? >> i was in the middle. >> the airline is also dealing with a couple of that deccrashes over the last 20 years. as it was attempting to land and bad weather. and in july, 2011, just a couple of years ago a cargo slammed into the east china sea. and it is based in seoul, south korea. it is one of our rio's major airlines. it is one of korea's -- major airlines.

section of the international terminal. as we head down this direction it looks just like this. there are so many people that are hoping to get on these flights. all of a sudden, is on the ground in the air planes. joining me is michele. you are looking to go to toronto. tell me about your experience, yesterday. >> we are right yesterday around 2:00 p.m. and we went to check and and we were told that the airport is shut off. they suggested that we should stay the night. however, all hotels are fully booked. >> that was the adventure to just find lodging. and i am here with my entire family.
they decided that it would be ok to stay at the airport. luckily, luckily, after going to so many online websites we did find a room. we asked for accommodation. so, we were panicking >> reporter: what time did you returned to the airport? >> initial flight was 8:00 p.m.. and also the second flight was 11:00 p.m. but we were not able to get to fly together. so, we saw a date until 11:00 p.m.. and finally, we received information from air canada. >> about 90 minutes of the delay?

being on their side. it is possible, not likely. but they will have their report completed by the end. >> and as a former inspector general, you've looked into aircraft incident in you or even a pilot yourself. speaking unofficially, based on what we've heard so far where would you be looking for a likely cause of this crash? >> i think the likely cause will be the fact that it was a beautiful day in san francisco. and the indicator lights were not operating. and with a boeing, 777, i would a imagine that he was not familiar. and also, if
the autopilot was not in full operation mode the plane was getting away from them, in some factor. >> we have heard some retired commercial flights that while that is true, that clearly the vision of the pilot is your last resort. you can hear the pilot on the adjacent runway. getting clearance from the tower when he is on the final approach. and you can hear him acknowledge that he has a visual on the landing. does that mean that from that point that now the house of runway in his vision? >> he is flying in visually
