battled a three alarm fire this morning. the fire happened at an apartment complex on the 2200 block of bridge. parkway around one this morning. so far, there are no reports of any injuries in the fire has been contained. investigators are looking into what caused the fire. >> protesters took place from coast to coast following the george zimmerman a not guilty verdict. this was a scene in oakland, for the most part yesterday's protest was people peaceful but you can see here a group of people gather to burn an american flag. kron4 is will tran is live at 20 and telegraph and downtown oakland. >> it this happened saturday night, we would not see this. unfortunately hours after the verdict people were still fired up. there is damage all throughout downtown oakland. this is the face of the most damage. i talk to people who patrol this area and they said yes
this is where we see most of the extent of the damage. boarded up windows, at least $20,000 worth of windows that need to be replaced. this is just one side. on the 20th side is just as bad. here is video that we got of the demonstrations that took place sunday night. just like saturday, it started off relatively peaceful. you could see hundreds of people going down the street, many of them were families. when it got dark is winning got unruly. a lot of places on broadway were damaged but no shattered windows. i have to tell you, lots of people are still angry two days after the verdict. they are still talking about it. there met on two fronts. they are mad about the verdict and they're mad about the destruction in oakland. >> i think it is

shattered the windows and customers and employees were ducking under tables to make sure that they were not harmed. as far as we know, sunday night's protest, no arrests. >> not just in oakland. in san francisco hundreds of protesters gathered in union square after the zimmerman verdict. protesters carried signs saying the people say guilty and no justice no peace. others brought bongo drums and bullhorns to the rally. the protests started at about 4:00 p.m. on powell and market streets. protesters blocked intersections as they chanted justice and marked down the street. no word of any protesters were arrested. several the war arrested in las angeles following the zimmerman verdict. the mayor las angeles push for peace last night but some groups broke
off and walked onto interstate 10 shutting the busy freeway for 30 minutes. also, some people at a nearby street corner began throwing rocks and flashlight batteries that officers. several were arrested yesterday evening, no word yet on how many police arrested overnight. >> another approach is happening around the country >> the search continues for the 21 month old girl was reported missing last week. this is a picture of daphne web. her father called police saying she had been kidnapped from his st be what he was inside convenience store in east oakland. police and volunteer scoured a section of the oakland hills yesterday looking for daphne web. more than 40 trained volunteers from both alameda and santa clara took part in the effort. they spend nearly seven hours going over 2 1/2 square miles of

>> welcome back, we are watching a monday morning commute. so far so good. nothing blocking right now, no accidents to slow you down. this back up is stretching towards the foot of the maze. metering lights are on and this is just a normal monday morning commute. 20 minutes from berkeley and to downtown san francisco. the san mateo bridge, no major problems along the stretch. once you get on the bridge, drive time is still holding at 12 minutes between 880 and highway 1 01 as you head out toward san mateo and foster city. no problems free ride across the golden gate. drive time is increase coming towards nevado. it is a little heavy just after the 37 split. once you get to the bridge, you're nice and smooth out there. the
nimitz freeway is filling in on the southbound side. the slowing starts at 2. you're coming out of caspar valley merging on to the nimitz it will be southbound through the nimitz. once you get past 92, you get back at the limit as you continue out towards fremont. an earlier problem at northbound 880 at 237. a big rig fire that is temporarily blocking a minor back up. you're back at the limit on 880 approaching 237. no major problems. all south bay freeways techie an accident free. northbound 1 01 a little crowded for you as you work your way into downtown san jose. >> we will start off with a live look from the golden gate bridge. very cloudy conditions this morning, not just along the coastline but a well established meemarine

good morning, the time 740 a m. the jury's verdict of not guilty in george zimmerman style of shooting and killing teenager trayvon martin is parking lot of debate. protesters, some peaceful, others not so peaceful took to the streets and cities across the country including oakland. here's a look at some of the comments from the kron4 facebook page. kevin walls says after watching what went on in the courtroom, i agree with the acquittal of zimmerman. to many people are upset just because of what the media has told them. dionne of davis said at zimmerman been black and trayvon white, there would have been no bail. and all white jury and death penalty would of been on the table. there is no justice for all in this country, just just as for

5:00 a.m. here is traffic. >> the commute headed into san francisco this morning, traffic has been out a tad bit as you approach the bay bridge toll plaza. it was not backed up solidly in heavily, it is spinning out of it. it is slow up the incline towards treasure island that is about it. once you get past a treasure island it opens up a bit and you can travel smoke into downtown sampras's coach. the san mateo bridge ride is trouble-free all morning, the nimitz heading south as crowded as the approach highway 2. was on the bridge, no problem as you work your way to the peninsula. the golden gate is looking good in both directions into and out of san francisco. drive time holding at 28 minutes for the southbound ride on 11 coming out of the north bay. it is a little crowded between highway 37 and about zero and 580, that split they're headed towards amber fell. once to get on the bridge traffic looks great
headed to san francisco. no huge improvements for your ride on west 80, it has been a slow commute throughout the morning. no major accidents or falls coming. a fatal accident on city streets, still working university ave. still closed between six and a. it is not affecting your ride on 80 but those of you traveling on city streets, keep that in mind. no major problems but stopping the traffic on 1 01 north at it through downtown san jose. another stretch of crowding as you approach that stretch and mountain view. northbound to 80, slow traffic coming out of headed towards cupertino. no major problems headed to s f o but southbound 1 01 is august just as you approach the highway 92 split as a worker ways towards the san mateo bridge.
